Tobias Augspurger, PhD, is an aerospace engineer and atmospheric scientist working to support open-source solutions in climate and energy. He contributes to projects like OpenSustain.tech, an initiative helping surface and connect climate-tech communities, and is involved in collaborative funding and transparency efforts such as OpenClimate.fund. At the Jülich Research Center, he focuses on remote sensing and software development for environmental research. Through Open Energy Transition, he helps improve global open data on power grids to support equitable energy access. Tobias values working with diverse contributors to foster transparency, reduce greenwashing, and enable practical, trustworthy climate action.

Stephen is a Black engineering and community leader in open source, based in New York City. He currently works as a Technical Architect in the Office of the CTO at Bloomberg.

He leads several projects, including Kubernetes, OpenSSF, and the TODO Group.

Within OpenSSF, he sits on the Technical Advisory Council. For Kubernetes, Stephen is a Steering Committee member and SIG Release chair, responsible for releasing one of the largest software projects on the internet.

He was previously Head of Open Source at Cisco, and has held open source engineering roles at VMware (via Heptio) and Red Hat (via CoreOS).

Sourish is 19 and dropped out of university to go build cool projects. He first went to State of Open Con 2024, and loved it so much that he came back to volunteer at SOOCon 25! He also covered the conference over 9 podcasts recorded with speakers and exhibitors. 

Outside software engineering, Sourish does competitive programming, represents the UK in hacking contests, and reads.

Sourish loves talking consumer-tech, podcasting, and filmmaking. He plans to one day create the world’s craziest open source project and build a startup off it

Simon Maple is the Founding Head of Developer Relations at Tessl and former VP of Developer Relations at Snyk, ZeroTurnaround, and IBM; a Java Champion since 2014, JavaOne Rockstar speaker, Duke’s Choice award winner, Virtual JUG founder, and London Java Community co-leader.

Shivay Lamba is a software engineer and open source contributor passionate about AI and edge computing. With experience across startups and enterprise tech, he focuses on simplifying complex technologies for developers. Shivay actively speaks at global conferences, organizes community events, and contributes to projects in cloud-native ecosystems, WebAssembly, and machine learning. He has also built and mentored educational programs to bridge gaps in emerging tech adoption. Shivay is the creator of AmiRing, a wearable AI assistant, and is dedicated to building inclusive, accessible tech. When not coding, he enjoys writing, traveling, and mentoring young technologists.

Samson Goddy is a seasoned open source leader, community strategist, and developer advocate. With over a decade of experience, he has championed inclusive tech communities across Africa and beyond. He serves on the boards of Sugar Labs and the Open Source Collective, and is a recognized GitHub Star. As the founder of Open Source Community Africa, Samson is dedicated to growing the next generation of contributors. A regular speaker at global conferences, he bridges the gap between open collaboration and emerging technologies.

Samuel Kummary is the Technical Director at the Mojaloop Foundation, a nonprofit focused on advancing financial inclusion through open-source software for interoperable payment systems.

With a career in software development since 2005, Sam has extensive experience in financial inclusion projects, holding technical leadership roles. A long-time member of the Mojaloop community, he contributed to its early iterations. Sam grew up in rural India with a passion for mathematics, science, and physics, and is driven by solving problems, improving system efficiencies. He serves as the Convener of the Mojaloop Change Control Board, manages Mojaloop releases, guides technical strategies and supports adoption of the Mojaloop Specification and Mojaloop platform itself.

Ruth Ikegah is a program manager working at the intersection of open source, public infrastructure, and stakeholder engagement. With years of experience in capacity building and digital community development, she helps bridge the gap between grassroots contributors and the institutions—governments, funders, and tech companies—that can support them. 

Phil is a Principal Engineer for Amazon Web Services (AWS), focused on open source leadership and strategy in cloud native container technologies that power AWS services like Fargate, EKS, and ECS.

Phil is a maintainer for the CNCF containerd runtime project, and participates in the Open Container Initiative (OCI) as a member of the Technical Oversight Board (TOB). Phil is also a CNCF Ambassador and a regular speaker on open source and cloud native topics at events around the globe.

Paula has served as a trusted technical advisor, distinguished engineer, and fractional CIO. She enjoys working with organizations on strategic, secure digital modernization efforts leveraging open source. Paula championed API, Identity, and platform strategies as part of the Digital Platform Strategy team at ThoughtWorks and led platform adoptions on AWS, GCP, and Azure prior to joining NearForm as Field CTO and OSPO sponsor. Paula is passionate about Open Source, and serves on the board of the OpenJS Foundation and as Open Source Day Co-Chair for the Grace Hopper Celebration.

In her spare time Paula enjoys playing music and cheering for her favorite F1 drivers.
