I like to numerically predict stuff that I don’t want to be predictable. Usually it’s AFL, a professional league for a ball sport in Australia. I use a system that I’ve dubbed Stattraction Triangle Rating System (STaRS). I’ve reiterated on this model for a while now, and I’ve been running my models since 2015. I also run models on sport climbing, and I previously had a professional Counter-Strike model.

I appear on Squiggle. I’d strongly recommend following Squiggle (Max Barry writes some excellent posts) and Matter of Stats (Tony Corke is the godfather of AFL citizen modelling), and other models that feature on Squiggle if you want any more than that.

Counter-Strike doesn’t have any citizen modellers from what I can tell. The few that do seem to exist shove gambling advertising in every nook and cranny, so I won’t be sharing them.

Climbing doesn’t have many citizen modellers, but Math and Cheese is a new one giving things a go. Sport Climbing Stats also has an impressive database while the IFSC Results website is where you want to go to see live and previous results.
