Resolved - Services have been restored following the Cloudflare outage. We are implementing mitigation measures to enable more rapid recovery options for any future Cloudflare outages.

Details

On November 18, 2025, a widespread Cloudflare outage caused intermittent HTTP 5xx errors for sites behind Cloudflare's network, including the DNS Check web application and API. DNS Check experienced approximately 1 hour and 31 minutes of downtime during this event. DNS record monitoring and notification services were not impacted.

The Cloudflare outage began at approximately 11:20 UTC and services were fully restored by 17:06 UTC.

Scheduled capacity expansion

Details

DNS Check's infrastructure was migrated to more powerful hardware. The maintenance window was from 12:00 am to 1:00 am UTC on July 24, 2021.

Approximately 10-15 minutes of downtime occurred for the website and API. Monitoring of some DNS records was also delayed by up to 15 minutes.

Scheduled hardware replacement

Hardware running DNS Check's website was replaced. The maintenance window was between 4:15 am and 12:15 pm UTC on May 8, 2020.

DNS Check's website was upgraded to more powerful hardware. Mitigations for the Spectre and Meltdown vulnerabilities were also applied during this window.
