Sifan Zhou
I am a final-year Ph.D. Student at Southeast University (SEU). Besides, I am also a Visiting student at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) AIR Lab, advised by Prof. Sebastian Scherer and Prof. Wenshan Wang. I am currently collaborating with Shibo Zhao and Yuheng Qiu at CMU RI. I have close collaborations with Prof. Xingxing Zuo at MBZUAI, Prof. Chen Wang at Buffalo University, and Prof. Yuzhang Shang at University of Central Florida (UCF). I greatly enjoyed my previous internship at Meituan Vision Intelligence Department, where I focused on 3D visual perception. During this internship, I was supervised by Xiangxiang Chu and Zhi Tian, and I also received valuable guidance from Xinyu Zhang, Liang Li and Bo Zhang. After this, I was fortunate to intern at Houmo.AI, concentrating on efficient AI, under the supervision of Zhihang Yuan. Before Ph.D., I worked as research assistants at Fudan University under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Yin Chiang. I earned my Master of Robotics from Northeastern University in 2021, advised by Prof. Zheng Fang. Outside of research, I enjoy fitness and music. My biggest hobbies are going to the gym and attending music festivals~
My research interests focus on Efficient AI (model compression/quantization for LLMs/MLLMs), Spatial AI (learning-based multi-sensor [LiDAR/Camera/IMU] perception for robotics), and Embodied AI (VLA/VLN for robotics). My long-term research vision is to enable natural interaction and seamless collaboration between robots and humans in open environments by accurately understanding/reasoning robot states, surrounding 3D scenes, and action execution.
I am on the job market and actively seeking full-time research scientist/engineer opportunities starting in 2026.
