2023

PSE Awarded as a Corporate Governance Champion 

On January 20 and September 28, 2023, the Institute of Corporate Directors, along with the Securities and Exchange Commission, conferred upon the Exchange an award of Four Golden Arrows for garnering an equivalent ACGS score of 110 to 119 points for its conformance with the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and international corporate governance recommendations and practices.

 

Women in Corporate Leadership Webinar for PLCs 

In celebration of the Women’s Month, The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE), in partnership with UN Women, held a webinar entitled Women in Corporate Leadership for publicly listed companies on March 7, 2023. This event was organized to serve as a platform to gain insight on how organizations can accelerate gender parity and encourage diversity and inclusion in a corporate setting. 


Training for Employees by UN Women: “Creating Pathways for Equality, Inclusion, and Leadership in the Workplace”

PSE and UN Women facilitated a training for the PSE employees regarding equality, inclusion, and leadership in the workplace. The talk was organized as part of the PSE’s celebration of the 2023 Women’s Month. 


Sustainability and Wellness Activity at With Meraki Forest Farm 
PSE employees participated in the Live Better Wellness Program of With Meraki Forest Farm on March 18, 2023. The farm offers activities such as meditation, basic yoga, and sustainability-related activities to company employees as part of their employee engagement and wellness efforts. Involvement in the Live Better Wellness Program allows the Exchange to contribute to 3 UN SDGs targeting Improved Nutrition (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). 


Membership to the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) 
During the 3rd quarter of 2023, the Philippine Stock Exchange formally became a member of the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) represented by its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Atty. Roel A. Refran. The PSRC was created by the Financial and Sustainability Reporting Standards Council to evaluate the International Sustainability Standards Board’s IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards for local use and to issue local interpretation and guidance. 


Installation of the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) 

The PSE is now officially using the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) installed in the electrical rooms of the PSE Tower. The REMS allows the company to understand the behavior of PSE electricity consumption. This enables the company to monitor energy usage and analyze data through insight-ready dashboards, helping to make data-driven decisions.


ASEAN Exchanges Jointly Establish Internationally Aligned Sustainability Metrics 
At the 36th ASEAN Exchanges CEOs’ Meeting last September 8, 2023, the Exchanges released 10 Governance Metrics which complement the previously announced metrics related to Environment (E) and Social (S) issues. Together, the core metrics will serve as a common basis for member stock exchanges to build upon in order to drive sustainability among their listed companies. This initiative is intended to encourage the disclosure of consistent ESG information on material topics. 


LEAP Insights: The Role of Sustainability in IPO Readiness and Marketability 
PSE and S&P Global inaugurated the first LEAP insights session last October 10, 2023. The event aims to showcase the vital importance of strong sustainability-related disclosures for SMEs preparing for their initial public offerings (IPOs). The discussion was also centered on how businesses can effectively identify the sustainability issues that carry the greatest risks and opportunities for their operations, and explored strategies to optimize capital in line with global trends. 


Planted Philippine Indigenous Forest Trees 
The PSE significantly contributed to climate action by planting Philippine indigenous forest trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Siniloan, Laguna last October 21, 2023, as part of its efforts to counteract biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change. PSE also contributed to FEED Climate Change Action Scholarship Fund to support financially challenged graduate and post-graduate students who are pursuing studies in Agriculture, Farming, Forestry, Fisheries, Social Enterprise, and Sustainability by taking part in this activity.


PSE-MSCI ESG 101 for Listed Companies 
PSE conducted a one and a half hour ESG Information Session in partnership with MSCI held last November 8 and December 12, 2023. The webinar was intended to serve as a platform to educate publicly-listed companies (PLCs) on recent ESG and sustainable finance trends in the Asia Pacific region. 


PSE-Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) EPR Information Session for Listed Companies with DENR 
PSE and the Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) collaborated to hold a webinar covering RA 11898 or the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 (EPRA) and the responsibilities of corporates under said law. PCX is a Producer Responsibility Organization that aims to address the plastic waste situation in the Philippines and in other countries that are heavily affected by plastic waste. 


PCCI Corporate Governance Seminar for Directors 
In compliance with the provisions of the Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and the Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report (IACGR) recommending that Directors of listed companies undergo annual corporate governance training, the PSE had its directors attend a virtual training course organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an SEC-certified corporate governance training provider. The corporate governance webinar tackled the topics of Digital Transformation, Social Media Policy, and AMLA Compliance in the Digital World. 


SEC and PSE Collaborated to Create a Platform for Sustainability Discussions

The PSE collaborated with the SEC for the 10th Annual Corporate Governance Forum. The overall theme was Philippine ESG: Navigating Toward Interoperability.

 

Coral Planting and Beach Clean-up in San Juan, La Union 
Eco Surf: Sustainable Stoke is an environmental engagement program that combines mangrove and coral planting with coastal clean-up. Employees of Exchange had the chance to participate in the propagation of corals near the shore.

 

PSE is the third Stock Exchange in Asia to join the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA) on Finance Day at COP 28 in Dubai 

Last December 4, at the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), the PSE formalized its membership to the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), a member coalition of the broader Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). 

It is worth noting that PSE is second among ASEAN Exchanges and is the third Exchange in Asia to join the alliance. GFANZ is a coalition of eight independent net-zero financial alliances whose members have committed to transition to net zero by 2050 and help achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Membership to the NZFSPA signifies our strong commitment to be an effective enabler of the economic transition to net zero. 


WFE’s Ring the Bell for Climate 
The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) took part in the inaugural Ring the Bell for Climate of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Participating members of WFE rang the bell between November 30 and December 12, the same schedule as the COP28 UN Climate Summit in Dubai. This initiative aims to mobilize WFE’s global network of bourses to show their support in addressing climate issues and to highlight their role in providing a venue for companies to raise capital for investment for sustainable development. 

2022

Climate Disclosure Training Program for PLCs
The PSE, in partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange, International Finance Corporation and the Carbon Disclosure Project, conducted a training program for publicly listed companies. This training program is a CPD-certified course and was offered free of charge. The objective was to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure.

 

Internal Webinar for Employees entitled “Safe Spaces at Work” conducted by UN Women

PSE conducted an internal webinar to discuss Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the “Safe Spaces Act”, to ensure all employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities to create a healthy workplace environment.

 

PSE was Given a Bronze Badge Recognition by Climate Neutral Now for its Commitment to Climate Neutrality.

Pursuant to the commitment of the Exchange to the UNFCCC, the PSE continues to undertake sustainability initiatives to achieve climate neutrality and minimize the Exchange’s Carbon Footprint. Last June 29, 2022, the PSE completed the Climate Neutral Now Report and was given a Bronze Badge by Climate Neutral Now.

 

Planted 400 Philippine Indigenous Forest Trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains for Carbon Sequestration
PSE significantly contributed to climate action by planting 400 Philippine indigenous forest trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Siniloan, Laguna last July 30, 2022 as part of its efforts to counteract biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change. PSE collaborated with the Climate Change Commission for the Climate Investment Forum 2022: Turning Climate Commitments to Action
The event served as a platform for government leaders to present their national targets on mitigation and adaptation, identify financing requirements, and enjoin stakeholders from the private sector to invest on the country’s priorities on climate action. Other event partners included the Department of Finance, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the United Nations Development Programme, and the World Bank Group.

 

SEC and PSE Collaborated to Create a Platform for Sustainability Discussions
The theme of the 9th SEC-PSE Corporate Governance Forum was “Safe Spaces: Fortifying Corporate Governance and Sustainability in the Philippines”.

 

PSE collaborated with Maybank Investment Banking Group (MIBG) for the online webinar entitled “ASEAN ESG Alpha and the Role of PSE in the ESG Narrative”
ESG in the Philippines has been gaining traction with both corporates and investors. The PSE partnered with MIBG to bring a spotlight on whether ESG is driving the performance of stocks in the ASEAN-6 countries, to what extent, and through which sectors. The event also covered the role of PSE in the ESG narrative and the use of ESG as an important investment tool in today’s evolving business and social landscape.

PSE became the first stock exchange around the world to sign a pledge with the UNFCCC as part of its efforts to continuously strive to achieve climate neutrality within its operations.

PSE lobbied for the replacement of the energy provider in PSE Tower leading to its electricity source shifting from coal to renewable.

PSE conducted a training for PLCs in partnership with the Asian Institute of Management – Ramon V. Del Rosario, Sr. Center for Corporate Responsibility entitled “Inclusion of Gender in Sustainability Reporting of Publicly-Listed Companies and other Private Companies” to promote and raise awareness on gender inclusion and equality.

PSE became a signatory of the WEPs to show full commitment to the gender equality agenda.

PSE moderated a one-hour discussion to serve as an avenue for the publicly listed companies (PLCs) to share anecdotes on their respective organization’s journey towards sustainability.

SEC-PSE Sustainability Writing Workshop
PSE and SEC, in partnership with the Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) through the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), conducted a workshop series on Sustainable Business and Reporting.

PSE Bell Awards for ESG
PSE revised the focus of the Bell Awards from purely corporate governance standards/metrics to a more expansive and relevant ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) criteria. The SEC signed a Memorandum of Agreement to endorse the PSE Bell Awards.

The 5th SEC-PSE CG Forum became the first sustainability-themed CG forum. The SEC and the PSE annually hosts the Corporate Governance Forum, to provide a platform for the government and the private sector to discuss relevant trends and updates in corporate governance and sustainability.

 

Bell Ringing for Gender Equality

PSE annually participates in the worldwide UN-initiated event “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality”. The Ring the Bell for Gender Equality program is organized by the World Federation of Exchanges, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Global Compact, UN Women, and International Finance Corporation. This annual event continues to this day.

PSE annually participates in the worldwide UN-initiated event “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality”. The Ring the Bell for Gender Equality program is organized by the World Federation of Exchanges, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, UN Global Compact, UN Women, and International Finance Corporation. This annual event continues to this day.

PSE Awarded as a Corporate Governance Champion 

On January 20 and September 28, 2023, the Institute of Corporate Directors, along with the Securities and Exchange Commission, conferred upon the Exchange an award of Four Golden Arrows for garnering an equivalent ACGS score of 110 to 119 points for its conformance with the Philippine Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and international corporate governance recommendations and practices.

 

Women in Corporate Leadership Webinar for PLCs 

In celebration of the Women’s Month, The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE), in partnership with UN Women, held a webinar entitled Women in Corporate Leadership for publicly listed companies on March 7, 2023. This event was organized to serve as a platform to gain insight on how organizations can accelerate gender parity and encourage diversity and inclusion in a corporate setting. 

Training for Employees by UN Women: “Creating Pathways for Equality, Inclusion, and Leadership in the Workplace”

PSE and UN Women facilitated a training for the PSE employees regarding equality, inclusion, and leadership in the workplace. The talk was organized as part of the PSE’s celebration of the 2023 Women’s Month. 

Sustainability and Wellness Activity at With Meraki Forest Farm 
PSE employees participated in the Live Better Wellness Program of With Meraki Forest Farm on March 18, 2023. The farm offers activities such as meditation, basic yoga, and sustainability-related activities to company employees as part of their employee engagement and wellness efforts. Involvement in the Live Better Wellness Program allows the Exchange to contribute to 3 UN SDGs targeting Improved Nutrition (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). 

Membership to the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) 
During the 3rd quarter of 2023, the Philippine Stock Exchange formally became a member of the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) represented by its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Atty. Roel A. Refran. The PSRC was created by the Financial and Sustainability Reporting Standards Council to evaluate the International Sustainability Standards Board’s IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards for local use and to issue local interpretation and guidance. 

Installation of the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) 

The PSE is now officially using the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) installed in the electrical rooms of the PSE Tower. The REMS allows the company to understand the behavior of PSE electricity consumption. This enables the company to monitor energy usage and analyze data through insight-ready dashboards, helping to make data-driven decisions.

ASEAN Exchanges Jointly Establish Internationally Aligned Sustainability Metrics 
At the 36th ASEAN Exchanges CEOs’ Meeting last September 8, 2023, the Exchanges released 10 Governance Metrics which complement the previously announced metrics related to Environment (E) and Social (S) issues. Together, the core metrics will serve as a common basis for member stock exchanges to build upon in order to drive sustainability among their listed companies. This initiative is intended to encourage the disclosure of consistent ESG information on material topics. 

LEAP Insights: The Role of Sustainability in IPO Readiness and Marketability 
PSE and S&P Global inaugurated the first LEAP insights session last October 10, 2023. The event aims to showcase the vital importance of strong sustainability-related disclosures for SMEs preparing for their initial public offerings (IPOs). The discussion was also centered on how businesses can effectively identify the sustainability issues that carry the greatest risks and opportunities for their operations, and explored strategies to optimize capital in line with global trends.

The PSE significantly contributed to climate action by planting Philippine indigenous forest trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Siniloan, Laguna last October 21, 2023, as part of its efforts to counteract biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change. PSE also contributed to FEED Climate Change Action Scholarship Fund to support financially challenged graduate and post-graduate students who are pursuing studies in Agriculture, Farming, Forestry, Fisheries, Social Enterprise, and Sustainability by taking part in this activity.

 

PSE-MSCI ESG 101 for Listed Companies 
PSE conducted a one and a half hour ESG Information Session in partnership with MSCI held last November 8 and December 12, 2023. The webinar was intended to serve as a platform to educate publicly-listed companies (PLCs) on recent ESG and sustainable finance trends in the Asia Pacific region. 

PSE-Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) EPR Information Session for Listed Companies with DENR 
PSE and the Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) collaborated to hold a webinar covering RA 11898 or the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 (EPRA) and the responsibilities of corporates under said law. PCX is a Producer Responsibility Organization that aims to address the plastic waste situation in the Philippines and in other countries that are heavily affected by plastic waste. 

PCCI Corporate Governance Seminar for Directors 
In compliance with the provisions of the Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and the Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report (IACGR) recommending that Directors of listed companies undergo annual corporate governance training, the PSE had its directors attend a virtual training course organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an SEC-certified corporate governance training provider. The corporate governance webinar tackled the topics of Digital Transformation, Social Media Policy, and AMLA Compliance in the Digital World.

Coral Planting and Beach Clean-up in San Juan, La Union 
Eco Surf: Sustainable Stoke is an environmental engagement program that combines mangrove and coral planting with coastal clean-up. Employees of Exchange had the chance to participate in the propagation of corals near the shore.

 

PSE is the third Stock Exchange in Asia to join the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA) on Finance Day at COP 28 in Dubai 

Last December 4, at the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), the PSE formalized its membership to the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), a member coalition of the broader Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). 

It is worth noting that PSE is second among ASEAN Exchanges and is the third Exchange in Asia to join the alliance. GFANZ is a coalition of eight independent net-zero financial alliances whose members have committed to transition to net zero by 2050 and help achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Membership to the NZFSPA signifies our strong commitment to be an effective enabler of the economic transition to net zero. 

WFE’s Ring the Bell for Climate 
The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) took part in the inaugural Ring the Bell for Climate of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Participating members of WFE rang the bell between November 30 and December 12, the same schedule as the COP28 UN Climate Summit in Dubai. This initiative aims to mobilize WFE’s global network of bourses to show their support in addressing climate issues and to highlight their role in providing a venue for companies to raise capital for investment for sustainable development.

Climate Disclosure Training Program for PLCs
The PSE, in partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange, International Finance Corporation and the Carbon Disclosure Project, conducted a training program for publicly listed companies. This training program is a CPD-certified course and was offered free of charge. The objective was to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure.

Internal Webinar for Employees entitled “Safe Spaces at Work” conducted by UN Women
PSE conducted an internal webinar to discuss Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the “Safe Spaces Act”, to ensure all employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities to create a healthy workplace environment.

PSE was Given a Bronze Badge Recognition by Climate Neutral Now for its Commitment to Climate Neutrality.
Pursuant to the commitment of the Exchange to the UNFCCC, the PSE continues to undertake sustainability initiatives to achieve climate neutrality and minimize the Exchange’s Carbon Footprint. Last June 29, 2022, the PSE completed the Climate Neutral Now Report and was given a Bronze Badge by Climate Neutral Now.

Other event partners included the Department of Finance, Securities and Exchange Commission, United Nations Development Programme, and World Bank Group.

ESG in the Philippines has been gaining traction with both corporates and investors. The PSE partnered with MIBG to bring a spotlight on whether ESG is driving performance of stocks in the ASEAN-6 countries, to what extent, and through which sectors. The event also covered the role of PSE in the ESG narrative and the use of ESG as an important investment tool in today’s evolving business and social landscape.

WFE’s Ring the Bell for Climate 
The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) took part in the inaugural Ring the Bell for Climate of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Participating members of WFE rang the bell between November 30 and December 12, the same schedule as the COP28 UN Climate Summit in Dubai. This initiative aims to mobilize WFE’s global network of bourses to show their support in addressing climate issues and to highlight their role in providing a venue for companies to raise capital for investment for sustainable development.

Climate Disclosure Training Program for PLCs
The PSE, in partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange, International Finance Corporation and the Carbon Disclosure Project, conducted a training program for publicly listed companies. This training program is a CPD-certified course and was offered free of charge. The objective was to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure.

 

Internal Webinar for Employees entitled “Safe Spaces at Work” conducted by UN Women

PSE conducted an internal webinar to discuss Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the “Safe Spaces Act”, to ensure all employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities to create a healthy workplace environment.

 

PSE was Given a Bronze Badge Recognition by Climate Neutral Now for its Commitment to Climate Neutrality.

Pursuant to the commitment of the Exchange to the UNFCCC, the PSE continues to undertake sustainability initiatives to achieve climate neutrality and minimize the Exchange’s Carbon Footprint. Last June 29, 2022, the PSE completed the Climate Neutral Now Report and was given a Bronze Badge by Climate Neutral Now.

 

Planted 400 Philippine Indigenous Forest Trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains for Carbon Sequestration
PSE significantly contributed to climate action by planting 400 Philippine indigenous forest trees in the Sierra Madre Mountains, Siniloan, Laguna last July 30, 2022 as part of its efforts to counteract biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change. PSE also contributed to FEED Climate Change Action Scholarship Fund to support financially challenged graduate and post-graduate students who are pursuing studies in Agriculture, Farming, Forestry, Fisheries, Social Enterprise, and Sustainability by taking part in this activity.

The event served as a platform for government leaders to present their national targets on mitigation and adaptation, identify financing requirements, and enjoin stakeholders from the private sector to invest on the country’s priorities on climate action. PSE and UN Women facilitated a training for the PSE employees regarding equality, inclusion, and leadership in the workplace. The talk was organized as part of the PSE’s celebration of the 2023 Women’s Month.

 

Sustainability and Wellness Activity at With Meraki Forest Farm 
PSE employees participated in the Live Better Wellness Program of With Meraki Forest Farm on March 18, 2023. The farm offers activities such as meditation, basic yoga, and sustainability-related activities to company employees as part of their employee engagement and wellness efforts. Involvement in the Live Better Wellness Program allows the Exchange to contribute to 3 UN SDGs targeting Improved Nutrition (SDG 2), Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), and Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). 

 

Membership to the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) 
During the 3rd quarter of 2023, the Philippine Stock Exchange formally became a member of the Philippine Sustainability Reporting Committee (PSRC) represented by its Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Atty. Roel A. Refran. The PSRC was created by the Financial and Sustainability Reporting Standards Council to evaluate the International Sustainability Standards Board’s IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards for local use and to issue local interpretation and guidance.

 

Installation of the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) 

The PSE is now officially using the Remote Energy Monitoring System (REMS) installed in the electrical rooms of the PSE Tower. The REMS allows the company to understand the behavior of PSE electricity consumption. This enables the company to monitor energy usage and analyze data through insight-ready dashboards, helping to make data-driven decisions.

 

ASEAN Exchanges Jointly Establish Internationally Aligned Sustainability Metrics 
At the 36th ASEAN Exchanges CEOs’ Meeting last September 8, 2023, the Exchanges released 10 Governance Metrics which complement the previously announced metrics related to Environment (E) and Social (S) issues. Together, the core metrics will serve as a common basis for member stock exchanges to build upon in order to drive sustainability among their listed companies. This initiative is intended to encourage the disclosure of consistent ESG information on material topics. 

 

LEAP Insights: The Role of Sustainability in IPO Readiness and Marketability 
PSE and S&P Global inaugurated the first LEAP insights session last October 10, 2023. The event aims to showcase the vital importance of strong sustainability-related disclosures for SMEs preparing for their initial public offerings (IPOs). The discussion was also centered on how businesses can effectively identify the sustainability issues that carry the greatest risks and opportunities for their operations, and explored strategies to optimize capital in line with global trends.

PSE conducted a one and a half hour ESG Information Session in partnership with MSCI held last November 8 and December 12, 2023. The webinar was intended to serve as a platform to educate publicly-listed companies (PLCs) on recent ESG and sustainable finance trends in the Asia Pacific region. 

 

PSE-Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) EPR Information Session for Listed Companies with DENR 
PSE and the Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) collaborated to hold a webinar covering RA 11898 or the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 (EPRA) and the responsibilities of corporates under said law. PCX is a Producer Responsibility Organization that aims to address the plastic waste situation in the Philippines and in other countries that are heavily affected by plastic waste. 

 

PCCI Corporate Governance Seminar for Directors 
In compliance with the provisions of the Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and the Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report (IACGR) recommending that Directors of listed companies undergo annual corporate governance training, the PSE had its directors attend a virtual training course organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an SEC-certified corporate governance training provider. The corporate governance webinar tackled the topics of Digital Transformation, Social Media Policy, and AMLA Compliance in the Digital World.

Coral Planting and Beach Clean-up in San Juan, La Union 
Eco Surf: Sustainable Stoke is an environmental engagement program that combines mangrove and coral planting with coastal clean-up. Employees of Exchange had the chance to participate in the propagation of corals near the shore.

 

PSE is the third Stock Exchange in Asia to join the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA) on Finance Day at COP 28 in Dubai 

Last December 4, at the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), the PSE formalized its membership to the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), a member coalition of the broader Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ).

PSE-MSCI ESG 101 for Listed Companies 
PSE conducted a one and a half hour ESG Information Session in partnership with MSCI held last November 8 and December 12, 2023. The webinar was intended to serve as a platform to educate publicly-listed companies (PLCs) on recent ESG and sustainable finance trends in the Asia Pacific region. 

PSE-Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) EPR Information Session for Listed Companies with DENR 
PSE and the Plastic Credit Exchange (PCX) collaborated to hold a webinar covering RA 11898 or the Extended Producer Responsibility Act of 2022 (EPRA) and the responsibilities of corporates under said law. PCX is a Producer Responsibility Organization that aims to address the plastic waste situation in the Philippines and in other countries that are heavily affected by plastic waste. 

PCCI Corporate Governance Seminar for Directors 
In compliance with the provisions of the Code of Corporate Governance for Publicly Listed Companies and the Integrated Annual Corporate Governance Report (IACGR) recommending that Directors of listed companies undergo annual corporate governance training, the PSE had its directors attend a virtual training course organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, an SEC-certified corporate governance training provider. The corporate governance webinar tackled the topics of Digital Transformation, Social Media Policy, and AMLA Compliance in the Digital World.

The PSE collaborated with the SEC for the 10th Annual Corporate Governance Forum. The overall theme was Philippine ESG: Navigating Toward Interoperability.
 

Coral Planting and Beach Clean-up in San Juan, La Union 
Eco Surf: Sustainable Stoke is an environmental engagement program that combines mangrove and coral planting with coastal clean-up. Employees of Exchange had the chance to participate in the propagation of corals near the shore.

 

PSE is the third Stock Exchange in Asia to join the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA) on Finance Day at COP 28 in Dubai 

Last December 4, at the 28th meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), the PSE formalized its membership to the Net Zero Financial Service Providers Alliance (NZFSPA), a member coalition of the broader Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ). 

It is worth noting that PSE is second among ASEAN Exchanges and is the third Exchange in Asia to join the alliance. GFANZ is a coalition of eight independent net-zero financial alliances whose members have committed to transition to net zero by 2050 and help achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. Membership to the NZFSPA signifies our strong commitment to be an effective enabler of the economic transition to net zero. 

WFE’s Ring the Bell for Climate 
The Philippine Stock Exchange, Inc. (PSE) took part in the inaugural Ring the Bell for Climate of the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE). Participating members of WFE rang the bell between November 30 and December 12, the same schedule as the COP28 UN Climate Summit in Dubai. This initiative aims to mobilize WFE’s global network of bourses to show their support in addressing climate issues and to highlight their role in providing a venue for companies to raise capital for investment for sustainable development.

Climate Disclosure Training Program for PLCs
The PSE, in partnership with the United Nations Sustainable Stock Exchange, International Finance Corporation and the Carbon Disclosure Project, conducted a training program for publicly listed companies. This training program is a CPD-certified course and was offered free of charge. The objective was to facilitate a multi-stakeholder dialogue on TCFD disclosure and provide an understanding of the importance of climate-related disclosure.

Internal Webinar for Employees entitled “Safe Spaces at Work” conducted by UN Women
PSE conducted an internal webinar to discuss Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the “Safe Spaces Act”, to ensure all employees are aware of their rights and responsibilities to create a healthy workplace environment.

PSE was Given a Bronze Badge Recognition by Climate Neutral Now for its Commitment to Climate Neutrality.
Pursuant to the commitment of the Exchange to the UNFCCC, the PSE continues to undertake sustainability initiatives to achieve climate neutrality and minimize the Exchange’s Carbon Footprint.
