must be recapped. if not recapped, a bad C72 will cause U2 to fail dead short and bridge 24V to your 5V rail. not good!

Heh, if it’s any consolation, two years ago I tried to do the same on an iMac G4/800 that was donated to me, completely forgetting that the previous owner had installed Leopard on it!

The Classic Environment — as the error message said — is no longer supported under Mac OS X Leopard. So there isn’t much you can do apart from downgrading the iBook to Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger. (Unless someone has come up with a hack to run Classic under Leopard and newer Mac OS X versions…)
