Comment on Ontario’s construction-prosperity opportunity by Natalie Irwin https://taf.ca/ontarios-construction-prosperity-opportunity/#comment-8140 Thu, 26 Feb 2026 20:51:19 +0000 https://taf.ca/?p=25557#comment-8140 This is exactly the moment to be bold. Ontario’s housing and retrofit push can drive good local jobs, stronger communities, and real climate progress. The key is to act with intention by listening and learn from those already in the space, like those mentioned above. With over 350 employees across Canada and more than 100 in Ontario, the team at CLEAResult Canada sees how coordinated investment in buildings and skills can turn today’s construction challenge into long‑term prosperity. This is the opportunity to get it right.

Comment on Health and climate groups applaud new EV incentives, but prescribe speed and ambition on vehicle regulations by Les Weir https://taf.ca/health-and-climate-groups-applaud-new-ev-incentives-but-prescribe-speed-and-ambition-on-vehicle-regulations/#comment-8127 Wed, 18 Feb 2026 15:33:11 +0000 https://taf.ca/?p=25533#comment-8127 In addition to cost, availability of EV’s is critical to mass adoption. If they are not on dealer lots and available for test drives, people won’t be able to buy them. I remember over 7 years ago when we got our 1st EV ( a Nissan Leaf) I had to shop far and wide just to find a dealer who had one coming in that wasn’t already sold. I feel the public still doesn’t understand just how much money they can save by driving an EV. For those who feel they can’t afford a new EV, there are now lots of used opportunities out there and the arguments about the batteries not lasting are just not true. My car has lost less then 5% of its original quoted range and its a 2018.

Comment on A new era for building codes in Canada by Alan Ho https://taf.ca/a-new-era-for-building-codes-in-canada/#comment-8072 Tue, 27 Jan 2026 18:12:55 +0000 https://taf.ca/?p=25450#comment-8072 Dear all,

I suggest to start a new mandate if that is not in existence yet, that all adjacent parking lots should have “easement” connected to their adjacent parking lots for at least the commercial and industrial sites, if not for all sites including the residential ones. Thank you.

The issue of provincial building code harmonization is critically important and doesn’t get nearly enough attention. Hopefully Ontario is listening.

Comment on Emissions rise again in the GTHA – gap widens despite proven solutions by Communication and Social Sciences https://taf.ca/emissions-rise-again-in-the-gtha-gap-widens-despite-proven-solutions/#comment-7985 Mon, 05 Jan 2026 01:26:46 +0000 https://taf.ca/?p=25183#comment-7985 I appreciate how the report connects climate action with affordability and job creation. Framing retrofits and clean energy investments as economic drivers makes the case much more compelling for policymakers.

Comment on Powering change: The underrated impact of DER programs in Ontario by Communication and Social Sciences https://taf.ca/powering-change-the-underrated-impact-of-der-programs-in-ontario/#comment-7984 Mon, 05 Jan 2026 01:25:16 +0000 https://taf.ca/?p=24958#comment-7984 This piece really highlights how much potential sits at the local utility level. It’s interesting to see how DER programs can quietly deliver real system-wide savings without the need for massive new infrastructure.

Content is important and it is presented so well. The by sector and by region inventory is fantastic; great that data goes back to 2015.

I have read through the report and watched the webinar. I have some questions; what is best way to send them in?
