LLM Risk Areas That Matter Most

As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms enterprise technology landscapes, security professionals face an unprecedented challenge: understanding which risks are genuinely new and deserve prioritized attention in their security frameworks. The Open Worldwide Application Security Project (OWASP) recently released its updated Top 10 for Large Language Model Applications (2025), providing a structured view of the most critical security risks facing LLM deployments.

While these risks demand serious attention, not all are created equal in terms of novelty. Some represent entirely new attack vectors unique to AI systems, while others are familiar cybersecurity challenges adapted to the LLM context. Recognizing which risks are truly novel empowers security teams to focus their limited time, budget, and attention on the areas where enhanced controls and investment will have the greatest impact.

OWASP Top 10 for LLMs: Novelty Assessment

LLM01: Prompt Injection – High novelty

Attackers craft inputs that manipulate the LLM’s behavior or output in unintended ways.

LLM10: Unbounded Consumption – Low novelty

Attackers exploit the LLM’s resource consumption, causing service slowdowns or outages.

Example: Flooding an API with multi-thousand-token prompts.

Why it’s not novel: Denial-of-service and resource exhaustion attacks have long threatened digital services; LLM workloads simply offer a new vector.

Conclusion

CISOs: As your organization races to integrate LLMs, your leadership is vital in separating real, new risks from familiar threats in an AI wrapper. The most urgent priorities (prompt injection, excessive agency, and system prompt leakage) demand immediate focus because existing controls often won’t spot or block these threats.

For risks that look familiar, like data leaks or supply chain attacks, lean on your proven cybersecurity processes—but audit your coverage and adapt as needed for the specifics of AI.

Are your organization’s databases in your chain of command? What if you aren’t sure if these databases are doing OK? The SAFE Databases framework is a way for you to have a non-technical yet productive conversation with the database keepers to assess if the databases are OK.

Below is very high-level summary of the framework. Secure – Available – Flexible – Extensible. Helpful hint – you can use this framework for many technology components, not just databases.

Secure

A secure database allows only permitted entities to access or modify data, and only to the extent and during the time periods that their assigned usage roles allow.

Unauthorized access of data can lead to loss of intellectual property, erosion of customer trust, regulatory issues, legal problems, and “resume necessitating events.”

Available

Availability success can be measured by actual application uptime vs. the uptime required by the organization.

If these factors are not met, some possible consequences are end user dissatisfaction, unplanned application outages, data loss, loss of revenue, and gaps in regulatory compliance.

Flexible

Flexibility success can be measured by how easily the database can make use of new versions and features, and how the database fits overall into the adaptability of the surrounding infrastructure.

If these factors are not met, some possible consequences are application upgrade complications and delays, delays in being able to implement new database features to gain a competitive business advantage, and delays in being able to apply database security and bug fixes.

Extensible

Extensibility success involves the organization proactively planning for reasonably foreseeable database size and/or activity growth.

If these factors are not met, urgent, out-of-band, nonbudgeted hardware upgrades or additions could be needed, or application/data growth abruptly curtailed or postponed. Hardware changes could result in diversion of existing project resources or funding to accommodate this suddenly urgent project.

You might use Facebook to catch up with college buddies, Snapchat and Instagram to share funny memes, and LinkedIn to connect with professionals in your industry. But how do you translate the use of these social media platforms for your business? Should you be on all the same channels? Post similar things? Connect in the same ways? To sum it up, what social media sites should your business be on?

You’re probably aware of how powerful social media is for business. According to Sprout Social, it’s common for customers to engage with brands on social media. Consider:

  • 74 percent of consumers share video content from brands on social media
  • 57 percent of consumers have reached out to a brand on social media because they had a question
  • 45 percent of consumers reach out to brands on social media to get an issue with a product or service resolved, and 34 percent reach out to brands to tell them they’ve done a great job

Social media provides an instant way for your business to build relationships with customers. Customers expect your brand to be listening on social media. HubSpot reports 50 percent of customers will ditch a business that doesn’t respond to a negative social media posts, and 80 percent of customers want a response within 24 hours.

Social media channels provide the following benefits for businesses:

  • You can build brand awareness, which is especially important for new businesses
  • You can provide customer support
  • You can teach, educate, and inform customers about new products and services
  • You can use social media to market your business
  • You can build up a better business reputation through connecting with customers

So you know social media is essential for business. But what social media accounts should your business utilize? With dozens out there, let’s hone in on some of the most widely used ones and how you can put them to work for your business.

1. Facebook for Business

No matter what controversy it’s embroiled in, Facebook still remains one of the most popular ways for people to keep in touch with friends, family, and brands. Pew Research Center reports in April 2019, 69 percent of American adults used Facebook. Among ages 18-64, usage is between 68 percent to 84 percent depending on the age group, then it drops down to 46 percent for seniors.

Unless your business is targeted exclusively to seniors, Facebook should be part of your social media strategy for the sheer number of people who use it. You can upload videos to Facebook, share blog links, message individuals who have customer service concerns, share promotions about your business, and get online reviews.

Facebook also has significant capabilities as a search engine. There are more than 1.5 billion searches on Facebook every day for local businesses, services, and products, Search Engine Watch reports. That’s about 40 percent of the total searches on Google, which is very significant. With much of your target audience using Facebook, your brand should have a presence there.

2. YouTube for Business

YouTube is actually the most widely used social network in the United States, with 73 percent of adults using it. Some notable usage: Pew reports at least 87 percent of those ages 18 to 49 use YouTube, while 38 percent of adults ages 65 and older use YouTube.

Google owns YouTube, which makes YouTube a social network to be on if you want your business to land high in search results. You can use YouTube to create videos to:

  • Share blog content in a visual way
  • Convey an emotionally charged message effectively
  • Create explainer videos for your products
  • Land in search results for people searching terms on Google and YouTube
  • Embed videos in your blog posts to keep users engaged.

Video content is extremely important to reach consumers today. A 2019 whitepaper by Cisco found video traffic accounted for 75 percent of online time in 2017. By 2022, that rose to 82 percent, at a compound annual growth rate of 33 percent. You want to make sure your brand has a video presence and will reach your audience, whose video consumption is only expected to grow.

3. Instagram for Business

Instagram, a photo- and video-sharing social network owned by Facebook, is the third most popular social network in the U.S. While 37 percent of total American adults use it, it’s particularly popular with younger demographics.

  • 75 percent of adults ages 18-24 use Instagram
  • 57 percent of adults ages 25-29 use Instagram

If your business targets 18-to-29-year-olds, you want to be on Instagram to reach the 67 percent of them who are active on the channel.

Instagram is focused on the visuals. Even though photos and videos shared on Instagram can be captioned, it’s the visual that draws users in and compels them to read a description.

Visual brands like restaurants, hotels and travel brands, fashion and apparel brands, food brands, art and design brands, and the like should definitely have a presence on Instagram. Their products draw people in by being visually appealing, so it makes perfect sense.

But even brands without a physical product — like a consulting firm or technology service — can still connect with customers on Instagram. Instagram is a great place to:

  • Show off company culture and team members
  • Display photos and videos from events the company has a presence at
  • Share inspirational quotes
  • Repost content from users to build relationships

Users find content on Instagram using hashtags, so you’ll want to add relevant keyword hashtags to photo and video descriptions to make them more searchable.

4. X (formerly known as Twitter) for Business

X: the social network that our current president uses as his main communication channel. That’s got to give it some clout, right?

On the surface, X may not seem that important for businesses. Only 22 percent of American adults use it, including 38 percent of those ages 18-29 and 26 percent of those ages 30-49.

But before you dismiss it for your business, consider this: 70 percent of journalists see X as a valuable social media tool, according to a survey from Muck Rack, and 27 percent of journalists see X as their primary news source.

Do you want press coverage for your brand? Would you rather build a one-on-one relationship with the journalist you want to cover your business than send out a generic press release to the wires (which 53 percent of journalists dismiss, anyway)?

X isn’t just a hot spot for traditional news journalists. Influencers and bloggers also use X. Unlike Facebook, where you’re not able to message an individual from your business page unless they’ve contacted you first, you can communicate directly with X users through direct messaging. That makes X a powerful tool for connecting with influencers who may cover your brand in the news, on blogs, on TV, and in their X feeds, sharing your brand with their followings.

And, of course, if you’re using X as a public relations tool, you can also connect with its audience and your target customers there. Like Instagram, hashtags are widely used on X, so be sure to add those to tweets.

5. LinkedIn for Business

LinkedIn is a social networking site for professionals. You can also add a company page to LinkedIn, which can provide the following benefits:

  • You can share news and updates on your page
  • LinkedIn users can follow your page to receive regular updates
  • A LinkedIn page is a positive search result for your business

Business owners should definitely have a presence on LinkedIn with a personal page. Even though LinkedIn has just 27 percent of Americans on the social network, there are more than 1 billion LinkedIn users in more than 200 countries and territories worldwide. LinkedIn is indispensable for making new professional connections, especially around the globe.

If you’re a B2B business, LinkedIn makes sense to be on. A LinkedIn report shows 80 percent of B2B marketing leads from social media come through LinkedIn. Also, HubSpot data reports LinkedIn generates the highest visitor-to-lead conversion rate of any social network at 2.74 percent, which is three times higher than Twitter and Facebook.

B2B businesses should definitely have a LinkedIn presence, but all business owners should have a personal profile. B2C companies can also benefit from a LinkedIn page, since you can connect with customers, recruit better candidates, and build brand awareness on the channel.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN IMMIGRATION

Overview
Artificial intelligence (AI) has undoubtedly become the fastest growing and most prominent disruptive factor in many environments in the last two years. AI advancements present opportunities for several benefits in the immigration space, including streamlining the recruitment of foreign workers, reducing application processing times, enhancing security measures, and the ability to predict migration patterns. However, inherent challenges and risks of recent technology, including potential biases, lack of transparency, and data privacy issues, must also be considered.
The most common uses of AI in immigration systems are illustrated below:


This data reflects responses from a survey of Fragomen’s top 50 countries by volume on the use of artificial intelligence by government bodies within immigration systems. Figures represent the total count of countries that answered “yes” or “sometimes” for each category. Information was gathered in October 2024 and may change over time.

Benefits of AI in the immigration space
■ Streamlining the recruitment of foreign workers. AI can help with talent recruiting, creating job requirements, sourcing candidates and filtering resumes. As a result, the human time and effort devoted to not only hiring in general, but also to labor market testing by an employer or immigration practitioner, depending on the jurisdiction, could be greatly reduced.
■ Better use of government workers’ time in immigration departments. AI is more
efficient and quicker at performing repetitive tasks, such as reviewing large numbers of documents and easily identifying when a required document is missing from an application package. Additionally, it has widely been accepted that generative AI technology is likely to have the most impact in automating some tasks while leaving time for other valuable duties, as opposed to fully automating jobs and eliminating positions. Therefore, AI programs can help reduce easier tasks during the immigration application administration process while allowing immigration department staff to redirect their time to complex case analysis or assistance.
■ Positive impact on the labor market. While initial concerns focused on AI eliminating jobs, it is increasingly evident that AI will likely create a net positive of jobs by increasing worker productivity. According to Goldman Sachs Research, AI could boost global GDP by 7% and labor productivity by 1.5% over the next decade. This growing demand for AI-skilled workers is already apparent, with individuals proficient in AI earning already earning 25% higher salaries in markets like the United States. This surge in demand for AI talent creates opportunities for immigration policies to attract skilled workers.
■ Enhancing security measures. AI can also be used to enhance security, monitoring and
detecting potential breaches in real time through monitoring and/or surveillance software, such as for visa-overstayers or work permit constraint violators.
■ Assisting migration management with predictive technology. Perhaps most significantly,
governments that work in collaboration with private and public stakeholders can pool information to better plan for migration events, create managed migration policies, and predict migration patterns or activities.

Challenges and risks of AI in immigration
While AI holds the promise of streamlining immigration processes and enhancing efficiency, it is crucial to address the accompanying risks and ethical dilemmas. A key to mitigate these challenges lies in preserving the human touch within immigration processes. This human-centric approach can be preserved and implemented at various levels, from government agencies ensuring that human oversight remains integral to AI-powered processes, to companies engaging professional immigration services that leverage the human element.
Key challenges and risks to immigration departments and border management departments adopting AI include the below:
■ Biases in AI systems. The United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Racial
Discrimination has warned that AI and facial recognition technologies could reinforce racial bias and xenophobia, leading to human rights violations. The UN Committee also highlighted the risk of AI systems perpetuating existing biases if trained on inherently biased data. Potential biases can also extend to geographical disparities. For instance, individuals residing in technologically advanced countries or regions may have an undue advantage, such as facilitated access to appointment scheduling that will not be available to others.
■ Transparency and accountability. Technical challenges, such as faulty data used for AI training or issues in system upkeep, can affect the precision and dependability of AI. A notable concern is the absence of human decision-makers. This lack of the human touch (and lack of sourcing information in AI- produced text, known as the ‘black box’) can complicate the process of challenging or appealing decisions. Appellants may not be able to identify or recover the information on which decisions were based, leaving them without the ability to challenge interpretations or sources of information. Moreover, it introduces accountability issues, as pinpointing responsibility becomes difficult when mistakes occur.
■ Data privacy concerns. AI used in border management functions, refugee integration
projects, crisis detection, speech recognition in asylum procedures, and identity fraud detection has led to debates about the protection of personal data and the potential misuse of this data. Though some government agencies are attempting to protect against their vulnerabilities because of the rise of AI in their systems (as well as adversarial attacks against their systems), this is an area that requires further development. This risk in particular may limit AI’s use in immigration as governments and employers must remain compliant with data privacy laws or may be unwilling train systems on particularly sensitive or proprietary topics.
■ National security issues. If governments choose to utilize AI to perform routine
immigration functions, they will have to be careful which AI platforms they choose to host sensitive and proprietary governmental information, due to national security implications.

■ Translation issues. As the frequency of AI being used in the form of neural machine
translations increases, there can be significant consequences in the immigration landscape, where immigration decisions can often turn on a few words or sentences. This became an issue for Afghan asylum seekers in the United States where errors in machine translations of Pashto and Dari were causing written statements by asylum seekers to not match interview statements, resulting in the denial of applications.
What’s next?
■ Potentially more restrictive immigration policies. As AI use spreads, governments are likely to implement restrictive trade policies concerning AI, including similarly restrictive immigration clauses. This will come as a result of AI being used to share sensitive data, including national security information; for example, governments are using AI to predict failures in weapons platforms. As a result, friendshoring is likely to increase.
o However, this approach to keeping sensitive AI technology with “like-minded” countries may be more complicated than initially anticipated, since certain countries could have vested interests in both sides of global rivalries.
o Alternatively, companies could be banned from operating in certain countries perceived as being against their operating country’s interests, or strategic deals could be made that include exclusivity provisions.

■ AI developments could result in increased friendshoring and nearshoring practices, creating hotspots for needed talent. As AI develops, governments are likely to increase friendshoring (when a manufacturer or service provider moves all or part of their business
to another geographical location, usually one with which it has political alliances) and nearshoring practices (when a manufacturer or service provider moves all or part of their business to another geographical location, usually one relatively close to the company’s headquarters), for various reasons. First, as noted above, AI is used in the production of items such as semiconductors, which are used in almost every developed country’s defense systems. The production of semiconductor chips used in military products in adversarial countries could potentially have devastating national security implications with top secret
information being leaked. As such, governments may seek to limit which businesses or governments are able to access these products or information.
■ Re-composition of workforce. With the emergence of AI, many lower-skilled jobs are likely to disappear. If AI replaces these lower-skilled workers, the demand for foreign nationals to take these jobs will decrease. On the other hand, various forms of automation throughout history have actually created new types of jobs; AI could potentially create long-term economic growth in countries that are early adopters of the technology. Thus, although AI may decrease the number of lower-skilled migrants needed, it is likely to increase the demand for those skilled in AI-related fields.
■ Skills gaps create need for reskilling and new immigration policies. Companies will need to become innovative in their approach to reskilling as many of their employees’ job functions will be replaced by AI. Further, in order to find the right candidates for these AI- related jobs, organizations are more attentive to the skills that candidates possess, rather than their degrees. By decreasing this major barrier to employment, more candidates around the world, particularly from developing nations where there are fewer opportunities for formal education, will be able to access the labor market for these new AI jobs.
Governments, too, are beginning to recognize this need to reevaluate educational requirements in order to fill labor shortages in areas such as AI.
■ Increased private sector involvement in policy decisions. As governments seek to regulate AI, the private sector’s expertise in this field will be critical to drafting policy that allows for innovation and productivity while avoiding pitfalls of the technology, such as data privacy breaches and national security issues.
Conclusion
The effect of AI on immigration policy, migration patterns, and immigration alliances are undeniable, though it remains to be seen just how much the immigration environment will be impacted by AI. This is a trend we are tracking in our Worldwide Immigration Trend Reports.

The Expanding AI Threat Landscape

AI systems are inherently interconnected, relying on vast amounts of external data, third-party models, and cloud-based infrastructure. This complexity creates multiple attack vectors. The Power of Feedback for Leaders

In the dynamic landscape of high-growth mid-sized businesses, companies constantly face the organizational challenges of growth, particularly during inflection points. According to a recent study by McKinsey, investors attribute about 65% of failures in their portfolios to people and organizational issues[1]. According to the study, CEOs and teams must adapt their structures, culture, and leadership as they mature.

Effective leadership, therefore, is about creating a culture that fosters growth, innovation, and trust. As companies scale and grow rapidly, leaders across the organization must step up to navigate the increased complexity of scale. CEOs should regularly assess their leadership teams’ capacity, capability, and willingness to grow.

Multiple researchers have established a high correlation between business performance and leadership effectiveness. As businesses grow and scale, so does the need for more effective leaders and for existing leaders to be more effective.

How do we do that?

The first step is to understand what’s going on. 

The first step to improving leadership effectiveness is understanding what’s really happening in your organization. Are your leaders achieving the results you want?

Leadership isn’t just about effort—it’s about impact. Are your leaders driving meaningful progress or simply maintaining the status quo? True leadership effectiveness is measured by business outcomes, company culture, innovation, and employee engagement.

Key Questions to Ask:

  • Are strategic goals being met?
  • Are teams engaged and motivated?
  • Is the organization growing in a sustainable way?

This information already exists within the system. Landing on the most effective way to gather this information, or reflect the feedback is key.

How Leadership Style Impacts Your Organization

Leadership effectiveness goes beyond hitting targets—it influences the entire work environment. Are your leaders inspiring, supportive, and driving growth? Or are they creating burnout and disengagement?

Ask yourself:

  • Do employees feel motivated and valued?
  • Are teams thriving under strong guidance?
  • Or are they exhausted, frustrated, and disengaged?

According to Gallup’s latest engagement survey, only 15% of employees are actively engaged at work, while a staggering 62% feel disengaged. That means the way your leaders show up directly impacts your company’s success or stagnation.

In the absence of a well-designed process to deliver feedback to the system – feedback is often haphazard, non-existent or unhelpful. I have even seen it being destructive for the leader and their confidence.

If we continue to lead the way we have, we will continue to get the results we are getting – or worse, because growth in those circumstances or environments may not be sustainable.

To evolve, we must embrace change and adapt our approach.

Next, you have to understand why it’s going on, and what we can do about it.

Without a good feedback mechanism, some leaders remain unaware of their reputation or potentially career-derailing behaviors that can be managed, corrected, and positively influenced.

Understanding how your leaders are perceived by their team, peers, and stakeholders can be a game-changer. Proactively inviting feedback from various sources opens the window to blind spots that busy leaders otherwise may not be aware of. The impact that culture, organizational structure, and other systemic influences play on the results we are getting now will also emerge.

Side note:

In a recent study conducted by The Leadership Circle, an interesting relationship emerged between a leader’s self-perception and the aggregate perception of others who work closely with the leader.

The study revealed that leaders whose businesses were viewed as underperforming usually tended to overestimate their effectiveness on every dimension being measured.

Conversely, those leaders who manage the businesses viewed as the highest performing have a tendency to be more humble in their self-assessments.

This is consistent with the Level 5 leader described by Jim Collins in Good to Great

A well-designed and carefully implemented 360-degree feedback process can support the organization in understanding these key leadership drivers.

Now that we know what’s going on – and why – we can begin to design a development plan for the leader(s) that supports the overall business growth goals.

Receiving feedback on its own is harsh. And possibly unhelpful. Any successful feedback program should include a debrief in a safe, confidential, and constructive manner. A development plan that supports the leader’s strengths and identifies key areas of development will help identify the leader’s growth edges and measure the program’s impact. If the 360-degree feedback program is designed well, leaders will see patterns in the feedback, they will understand why they react in a certain way, and they will also see the paradoxes in play.  

Working with a qualified and experienced professional to debrief the results, leaders can develop a clear development plan, with milestones and key performance indicators that can me measured.

How 360-Degree Feedback Works

The process involves gathering feedback from a variety of sources, including direct reports, peers, supervisors, and even external stakeholders like investors or partners. Thus, the name 360-degree feedback. 360-degree feedback is anonymous and constructive when done correctly, ensuring honesty and candor. Leaders receive a well-rounded view of their performance, highlighting what they excel at and areas where they might need support or development.

A well-designed program will be based on researched-backed proven leadership traits and dimensions. It often involves a set of questions that the leaders and others answer. The questions may be online or via a face-to-face interview. Feedback is always confidential, thus ensuring respondents are candid and honest with their feedback.

After the feedback has been gathered, it is analyzed and debriefed with the leader via a safe, confidential coaching session with a trained professional. It’s important that the feedback is delivered in a safe space to ensure understanding, analysis, and insights for development.

In today’s fast-evolving business landscape, leadership effectiveness is not just about authority or decision-making—it’s about influence, adaptability, and the ability to inspire and empower others.

White House and tech giants announce Stargate Project, a bold push ...

Jaws dropped across the Big Country Tuesday night when Abilene was mentioned at the White House as the home of the first data center in a $500 billion artificial intelligence initiative called the Stargate Project.

On his first full day in the White House, President Donald Trump introduced Oracle founder Larry Ellison, SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in a press conference to announce “the largest AI infrastructure project, by far, in history.”

Stargate will be a new American company that Trump said would “almost immediately” create over 100,000 domestic jobs.

“It will ensure the future of technology. We want to keep it in this country,” Trump continued, mentioning China and others as leading competitors in the rapidly-expanding industry.

“I’m going to help a lot through emergency declarations. They have to produce a lot of electricity, and we’ll make it possible for them . . . to get that done, at their own plants if they want,” Trump said.

“Beginning immediately, Stargate will be building the physical and virtual infrastructure to power the next generation of advancements in AI,” the president said. “This will include the construction of colossal data centers . . . and physical campuses currently being scouted nationwide.”

Trump said, “This is to me a very big thing, the $500 billion Stargate Project. I think it’s going to be something that’s very special. It could lead to something that could be the biggest of all.”

Trump then invited Ellison to the podium.

“AI holds incredible promise for all of us,” Ellison said, after thanking the president. “We’ve been working with OpenAI for awhile. The data centers are actually under construction, the first of them are under construction in Texas.

“Each building is half a million square feet. There are 10 buildings currently being built, but that will expand to 20 and other locations beyond the Abilene location, which is our first location.”

Trump followed the tech moguls to finish up the press conference before moving on to other topics.

“This is money that would have normally gone to China or other countries. But at the end of my first full day in the White House, we’ve already secured nearly $3 trillion of investment in the United States,” he said, referencing other developments.

The Development Corporation of Abilene released a short statement Tuesday evening, stating, “This $500 billion initiative, with $100 billion deployed immediately, will establish critical AI infrastructure across the United States, starting in Abilene, Texas.”

DCOA touted how local leadership will turn the Key City into a key player in the future of AI innovation.

“AI seems to be very hot. It seems to be the thing that a lot of smart people are looking at very strongly” Trump said. “Our country will be prospering like never before. It’s going to be the Golden Age of America.”

Reporting in TechCrunch, an online publication covering the technology industry, stated that OpenAI was in negotiations to “lease an entire data center in Abilene, Texas — a data center that could could reach nearly a gigawatt of electricity by mid-2026. (A gigawatt is enough to power roughly 750,000 small homes.)”

Crusoe Energy was also mentioned as being involved in Stargate, reported TechCrunch, citing another tech industry publication called The Information.

The company made headlines this fall with their $3.4 billion investment on the Lancium Clean Campus under construction in north Abilene.

After the press conference, the three Tech Industry titans answered questions for reporters on Fox News.

“The first data centers are under construction in Texas already, and we’ll be turning them over to Sam (Altman) to start training their next (AI) model,” Ellison said. “The data center we already built; it was the largest computer ever built. The data center we’re building (now) will surpass it and will be the largest computer ever built, which enables this AI.”

Altman, earlier during the press conference, briefly mentioned how these new data centers will be the next step toward AGI, or Artificial General Intelligence. While AI can perform some tasks, there is debate as to whether it is problem-solving or problem-resolving by using information already available to it.

Artificial General Intelligence by contrast completes the assigned task using human-like understanding, consciousness and the ability to generalize learning across all domains, independently. In essence, self-awareness or nearly adjacent to it.

In a Monday article in the magazine Fortune, Altman downplayed the release of AGI.

“We are not gonna deploy AGI next month, nor have we built it,” Altman told the magazine.

He said some ‘cool stuff’ was coming, but he “warned fans to cut their expectations by ‘100x.'” the magazine wrote.

Still, the story goes on to cite rumors of an AGI breakthrough behind closed doors and a “euphoria” among OpenAI followers on X who feverishly hype apparent advances in the current model as evidence . OpenAI staffers have taken to the social media platform to tamp down those expectations.

Outside the White House, Ellison put a fine point on the significance of the coming AI advances and by inference Abilene’s role in them and how they might affect the entire world.

“This is going to touch all of us. Yes, it takes a huge investment but the result will be vaccines that prevent cancers. Personalized medicine where we never run into a problem like COVID-19 before, because we’ll have an early warning,” he said. “We’ll know when (it) starts, when there are a handful of patients, rather than having to wait until it’s become an epidemic and very difficult to control.

“This is a very large investment that affects all of humanity.”
