Impossibrew is a pioneering functional beverage brand redefining alcohol-free drinking. Their award-winning “Social Blend” beers are crafted to enhance mood and relaxation without alcohol, combining premium brewing with innovative adaptogens.

The Challenge

As Impossibrew expanded its product range — introducing multiple flavors, bundles, pack sizes, and subscription options — its purchase flow became fragmented. Customers were navigating several product pages, each with different layouts, offers, and calls-to-action. This resulted in difficulty comparing product types, sizes, and subscription benefits. A heavy maintenance with updates needing to be made across multiple templates.

The Journey

To solve these challenges, we redesigned the purchasing flow around a single, optimized Buy Experience, backed by a fully modular configuration system.

Key Areas of Improvements

1. Unified Buy Experience

  • Consolidated all previous product pages and subscription pages into a single, streamlined “Buy” page.

  • Optimized the journey for mobile users, where a majority of Impossibrew’s customers browse and purchase.

  • This shift transformed the buying process from multi-step to one clear, high-converting path.

2. Modular Buy Box Component

At the heart of the new experience is the Buy Box component, designed as an interactive, reusable block that holds every key purchasing control:

  • Flavour / Bundle Tabs: Customers can switch between product types instantly.

  • Quantity & Size Selector: Pack sizes update dynamically with:
    • Tiered savings
    • Price per unit
    • Messaging for free shipping or best value
  • Custom Subscription widget: Clear toggle for one-time vs. recurring purchase, with subscription benefits highlighted.

  • Reward Selector (Subscriptions Only): Conditional logic that reveals reward options (e.g., free gift product) based on pack size or subscription type.

This modularity ensures both a premium brand experience and a scalable development approach.

3. Dynamic Configuration System

We developed a centralized configuration framework:

  • All pack sizes, prices, savings calculations, and messaging are controlled from a unified setup.

  • No need to edit multiple templates—changes update everywhere automatically.

  • Headings, subcopy, and labels are fully editable through theme settings instead of code.

  • This allows the Impossibrew team to adjust pricing, add new bundles, or update messaging without developer involvement.

4. Structural Consistency & Page Framework

We also aligned the full page layout for long-term brand consistency:

  • Standardized the bottom sections of the Buy page, which previously varied across product types.

  • Established a unified design system for ingredients, reviews, FAQs, and educational content blocks.

  • Reduced layout fragmentation and ensured future scaling would be smooth and predictable.

The Challenge

Pulse4all was operating multiple storefronts using a fragmented system that combined WooCommerce and Circularly, with additional Stripe integrations. This hybrid architecture introduced several critical issues:

  1. Design inconsistencies between front-end and checkout flows.
  2. Technical misalignment between product variants/SKUs and their inventory sources.
  3. Customer support inefficiencies due to data split across platforms.
  4. Complex subscription management, limiting scalability.
  5. Multiple backends requiring duplicated effort and ongoing maintenance.

Circuly, while powerful, proved to be overly complex for Pulse4all’s needs. Every day operational tasks required workarounds, making subscription management harder rather than easier. WordPress introduced constant instability – plugin conflicts, performance issues, and ongoing maintenance overhead. Data lived across multiple systems, creating friction for customer support, reporting, and fulfillment.

Additionally, Pulse4All wanted to prepare for expansion into new European markets while keeping brand consistency, performance, and regional compliance intact — a tall order given the limitations of their current stack.

The Journey

After evaluating the options, Shopify Plus emerged as the clear foundation. To support Pulse4All’s subscription and regional payment needs, we sourced and implemented Juo, the best-fit subscription solution capable of handling Shopify-native checkout alongside iDEAL, Mollie, and Stripe-based legacy billing.

Strategic Platform Migration

  • Integrated Shopify Payments and Mollie for regional compatibility (e.g., iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA).
  • Maintained existing Stripe billing for legacy customers while routing new subscriptions through Juo.
  • Set up dynamic workflows per country using Shopify + Juo based on local payment preferences.
  • Established country-specific tax rates
  • Connected all tracking pixels, analytics tools, and forms needed for ongoing marketing.

Tailored Payment & Subscription Setup

  • Integrated Shopify Payments and Mollie for regional compatibility (e.g., iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA).
  • Maintained existing Stripe billing for legacy customers while routing new subscriptions through Juo.
  • Set up dynamic workflows per country using Shopify + Juo based on local payment preferences.
  • Addressed the UK-specific BACS payment limitation by offering two go-live options: defer UK launch or launch without BACS temporarily.

Customer Experience

  • Unified design and UX across all stores by adopting the UK store as a design template.

  • Localized content and structure for each market, including language-specific pages and subscriptions.

  • Custom customer portal to include critical features like swap requests, payment updates, and invoice history.

  • Implementation of system to track the rented devices per user, with device location, status, serial number and more.

  • Set up automatic PDF invoices via Sufio, multilingual customer notifications, and tailored email flows using Shopify/Juo integrations.

Pulse4all is nearing the completion of its transition to a fully unified Shopify Plus ecosystem. The final phase focuses on migrating the remaining front end and customer care center from WordPress, creating a scalable and regionally compliant platform that supports subscriptions, international growth, and operational efficiency—while delivering a seamless experience for both customers and internal teams.

This transformation is supported through a successful ongoing monthly retainer with THAILS, ensuring continuous support, optimization, and readiness for future market expansion.

Underdogs is a cultural platform based in Portugal that encompasses a gallery, a public art program, the production of artist editions, and the development of commissioned art projects.

Improved User Interface

Enhance the website’s design to provide a more intuitive and visually appealing user experience. This includes optimizing layout, navigation, and overall aesthetics to make it easier for visitors to find information and navigate the site.

Conversion Optimization 

Implement strategies to increase the website’s conversion rate and average order value, with a focus on driving more users to take desired actions such as making purchases, adding related products, subscribing and  completing contact forms.

Simplifying Content Updates

Streamline the process for updating website content via the customizer. This involves making it easier for the client’s team to make changes to the website without relying heavily on developers, thereby improving efficiency and reducing turnaround time for updates and new artwork launches.

The journey

The project comprised several distinct stages:

Discovery

During this phase, we conducted a thorough examination of the website, identifying its strengths and weaknesses. We devised a comprehensive plan outlining proposed improvements aimed at optimizing conversion rates, enhancing user experience, and understanding the client’s backend functionality requirements.

Design Development

The objective was to refine the existing design and enhance user experience following the site’s current guidelines and design concept. We iterated through multiple design presentations, seeking approval from the client at each stage.

Development

Building upon the approved design, we started implementation of our scope of work. In addition to updating the Home page, Collection pages, and Product pages, several key enhancements were made:

  • Implementation of a bespoke side cart featuring additional upsell options
  • Implementation of advanced product filtering on Collection pages
  • Enhancement of product search functionality on the site
  • Improvements to the checkout process
  • Introduction of forms to capture user contact information

The Project

We partnered with Pluck Tea to refresh and optimize their Shopify store, focusing on upgrading their Empire theme while maintaining the existing functionality and design. This project was driven by the goal of enhancing the user experience, aligning the theme with Pluck Tea’s updated branding, and implementing advanced customizations to support their e-commerce strategy.

Theme Update and Branding Refresh

To kick off the project, we updated Pluck Tea’s Shopify store with the latest version of the Empire theme. This update not only ensured compatibility and performance improvements but also allowed us to incorporate Pluck Tea’s refreshed branding seamlessly across the site.

UI/UX Enhancements for Smooth Shopping

We focused on optimizing the user interface and experience to create a frictionless shopping journey. Key improvements included:

  • Streamlined Product Variations: We optimized the display of product variations, making it easier for customers to select their desired options and add items to their cart.
  • Upgraded Side Cart with Upsell Feature: The side cart was enhanced with an upsell functionality, encouraging customers to add complementary products to their order, increasing average order value.
  • Dynamic Free Shipping Tier: We introduced a dynamic free shipping tier that calculates thresholds in real-time, motivating customers to make larger purchases to qualify for free shipping.

Advanced Subscription Management with Recharge

To enhance Pluck Tea’s subscription offerings, we implemented advanced customizations using Recharge. This included tailored subscription flows, an improved user interface, and new features designed to boost customer retention and satisfaction. These customizations provide subscribers with a seamless and personalized experience.

Dedicated Matcha Category Experience

Recognizing the growing popularity of Matcha, we developed a dedicated landing page and designed new product and bundle pages exclusively for this category. This focused approach creates an immersive and engaging experience for customers exploring Pluck Tea’s Matcha offerings.

Seamless Loyalty and Reviews Program Migration

We successfully migrated Pluck Tea’s loyalty and reviews programs from Raleon to Stamped, ensuring a smooth transition without disrupting the customer experience. Along with the migration, we overhauled the system to provide improved functionality and user engagement.

Revamped Email Marketing with Klaviyo

To align with the store’s updates and branding refresh, we revamped Pluck Tea’s email marketing using Klaviyo. We created engaging email flows and templates, including:

  • Welcome Series: Personalized introductions to welcome new subscribers and customers.
  • Abandoned Cart Reminders: Gentle nudges to encourage customers to complete their purchases.
  • Post-Purchase Flows: Nurturing customer relationships, building loyalty, and driving repeat sales.

The Challenge

The project aimed to optimize the mobile and desktop shopping experience for NIKIN’s e-commerce store, focusing on improving usability, streamlining interactions, and enhancing responsiveness.

The journey

Implementing a Sticky “Add to Cart” Button

One of the key updates we made was adding a sticky “Add to Cart” button to NIKIN’s product pages on mobile. This means that as a user scrolls through a product’s details, the button remains visible at the bottom of their screen. Shoppers can easily add items to their cart without having to scroll back up.

We also made sure that the button allows users to adjust their selected product options, like size and color, without having to leave the page. A handy preview of the product is always shown next to the button for added clarity and confidence.

Sticky “Add to Cart” Delivers Results

We’re thrilled to report that the sticky “Add to Cart” button is performing exceptionally well. In just 15 days since its implementation, NIKIN has seen a 5.92% increase in revenue compared to the original variation without the sticky button.

This significant boost in revenue demonstrates the effectiveness of this mobile optimization in driving sales and improving the user experience.

Streamlining Collection Page Shopping

In addition to the sticky button, we implemented a quick-add feature on NIKIN’s collection pages. Before, mobile users had to navigate to a product’s full details page to add it to their cart. Now, they can simply tap a quick-add button to select options and add products to their cart instantly, right from the collection page.

This update makes browsing and purchasing much more efficient, as shoppers don’t lose their place in the collection when they find an item they want.

The Results: A Seamless Mobile Experience

Our team was thrilled to help NIKIN enhance their mobile store’s user-friendliness. By keeping the “Add to Cart” button ever-present and enabling quick additions from collection pages, we were able to create a shopping experience that truly caters to the needs of mobile users.

These updates not only improve usability but also help reduce cart abandonment by removing common obstacles in the mobile buying journey. We’re proud to have played a part in NIKIN’s ongoing efforts to provide an exceptional customer experience.

THE CHALLENGE

My Way Up was looking for a new website with a fresh design focused on a better user experience.


The client was looking for a website with animations that engages the customer vs. a full static page. Additionally, to engage and aid customers in choosing the right products for their needs, MWU was looking to build a custom regimen Quiz.

THE JOURNEY

We started with discovery, clarifying their website’s needs and requirements. Then, we scoped out the website and the custom regimen quiz. After discovery, we build mockups for all the website pages, so all is clear ahead of development.
The homepage features unique animations and clarifies the brand and what they offer.
The product page was carefully tailored to include custom sections with more information about the product benefits and composition vs. the usual Product page with a short description only.
The subscription flow was done with Recharge, which we migrated to Recharge 2.0 fully integrated with Shopify Payments and delivers higher conversion due to its seamless checkout vs. Recharge’s own checkout.
The quiz that helps customers with the current “mix”/”bundle” of products is fully custom aligned with their overall design. We directly integrated with Klaviyo, sending all the replies and customer data to the database. This enabled them to implement a hyper-target email marketing strategy based on the customers’ needs vs. promoting all their products to all customers. Additionally, the quiz featured a results page where the user could select the products they wanted to add, as well as the frequency of delivery. Initial results show a considerable increase in AOV!
As usual with our development practices, all the features and sections were implemented in Shopify custom sections, so the internal team can easily manage the content (e.g., products, text, images) without needing a developer.
We continue working with the client through ongoing strategic support, optimizing the website and quiz for better conversion and customer easiness.

Missus Shopify Case Study

Missus is a Portuguese swimwear brand committed to sustainability, crafting all bikinis from recycled fabrics. As we prepare for the launch of a new collection, we’ve received a request from a client to enhance the conversion rate on their store and implement multi-language support.

To evaluate the store’s strengths and weaknesses, we conducted a thorough audit of all pages, including the checkout and payment pages. Following discussions about our findings and recommendations, we’ve begun implementing improvements to enhance the overall shopping experience.

The Challenge

Although the site boasted strengths, our objective was to implement a substantial number of improvements to enhance its overall performance ahead of the new collection release.

Mobile first focus

One major focus was on optimizing page content, with particular emphasis on the mobile version to minimize scrolling. This entailed restructuring content to ensure a smoother browsing experience on smaller screens.

Cross selling

To boost sales and enhance customer experience, we strategically implemented cross-selling techniques within the side cart. 
This not only made it convenient for customers to discover useful accessories and related products but also increased the average order value.

Visual improvements

Additionally, we worked on optimizing images and product carousels across collection and product pages to improve user engagement.

Another significant aspect of the project was setting up multilingual functionality, ensured smooth transitions between languages for improved accessibility and user experience.

Overall, these optimization efforts were aimed at improving site usability, enhancing visual appeal, and facilitating seamless navigation for users across different devices and languages.

 

The journey

The project progressed in stages. Initially, we conducted a comprehensive audit, which led to the creation of a detailed overview outlining proposed improvements. These improvements covered general recommendations as well as enhancements to individual pages, including the Home page, Collections page, and Product page.

Additionally, we implemented a side shopping cart featuring a dynamic promotional steps module, along with an upsell block, to further enhance the shopping experience and increase the conversion rate.

Maeving Shopify Configurator Case Study

Maeving is a Britain’s startup first electric motorcycle manufacturer is defining the future of urban travel; leading the charge to EVs using the best of tomorrow’s technology.

Thails faced the exciting challenge of developing a user-friendly motorcycle configurator. This tool needed to allow customers to tailor their Maeving motorcycles to their personal tastes and requirements, showcasing our expertise in UX/UI design and technical development.

The Challenge

The configurator project entailed incorporating a multitude of combinations and characteristics for the motorcycle, ensuring a comprehensive customization experience for users.

Motorcycle model

Users have the ability to select from a variety of battery specifications under the performance options, tailoring their choice to fit their personal preferences or specific needs. Additionally, within the settings, there’s an option to add an upsell product.

Tank Colour

The Tank colour, which originates from metaobjects, serves as the initial step in visually customizing the motorcycle. This option specifically allows users to update the color of the motorcycle’s tank, reflecting the changes in the gallery. This addition marks the first of several visual enhancements designed to personalize the motorcycle’s appearance.

Seat colour

The “Seat” customization feature allows users to select the material for their motorcycle’s seat, offering a variety of options to enhance comfort, style, and durability according to their preferences.

Addons and extra products

Storage and other addons are possible to add to the motorcycle configuration. These are easily configurable in Metaobjects.

Summary page

On the summary page, users can easily change their motorcycle customization options they’ve previously selected. With each change, the page will immediately update both the price and gallery to show the new configuration, allowing users to instantly see the effects of their customizations, without the need to go back in the configurator.

Additionally, users have the option to apply for financing directly from the summary page , making the purchase process seamless and integrated.

The configurator goes beyond offering customization options by providing users with the ability to save their configuration settings for future reference. This feature ensures that users can revisit their personalized choices at any time, allowing for a convenient way to make adjustments or finalize their decisions later on.

Additionally, we integrated the configurator with HubSpot, not only for retargeting purposed but also to equip the sales team with valuable information when contacting the customer to assist on the purchase.

In instances where a user does not complete their purchase, the configurator generates a unique URL linked to their specific configuration. This URL is then sent to the user, offering them a direct and hassle-free way to return to their saved configuration. This thoughtful feature ensures that users can easily resume their customization and purchasing process without having to start over, thereby improving the overall experience and increasing the likelihood of purchase completion.

Love Is Project Shopify Plus Redesign Case Study

Love Is Project, founded by Chrissie Lam, supports and empowers female artisans in developing communities across the globe. Inspired by the vibrant history, culture, and craftsmanship of their artisans’ home countries, the team oversees the production of a line of handmade bracelets, which fittingly carry the name LOVE. The company creates jobs for over two thousand artisans in ten countries – supporting their families, paying for school fees, and investing in additional income-generating projects.

TECHNOLOGY

THE CHALLENGE

Initially, the focus was placed on optimizing the discoverability of products and collections without compromising the website performance. Furthermore, Thails worked on highlighting the company’s impact throughout the buyer journey while further increasing the conversion rate and the average order value.

THE JOURNEY


The collaboration with Chrissie, the founder of Love is Project, was initialized with a thorough analysis of her platform. Our team optimized her website for better usability, showcasing her products to a wider and more engaged audience – who was increasingly aware of the mission behind these unique bracelets.

Accordions were added to product pages to seamlessly provide information related to the impact of the Love is Project – for instance, sharing the number of jobs that were created for a product to be produced.

Pagefly, which was implemented across the website and limiting a shared set up of the diverse collections, was replaced with a custom collection template – a change that quickened the internal processes significantly.

With the goal to develop a more dynamic collections page, videos were added to the buyer journey – sharing the mission of the Love is Project through compelling visuals.

In the latest collaboration stages, our team supported the platform’s upgrade to Shopify Plus, which coincided with Chrissie’s appearance on Shark Tank – making scalability and automation the focus for the coming months.
