Nice informative article. One newer online user-testing site I ran into recently is usertestingmarket.com. It’s a bit more flexible than some of the others in that you can specify the number of tests you’d like, how long you’d like the user test video to be, whether you need audio, and even the price you’re willing to pay per test. Prospective testers can view your instructions (and price) and decide whether they want to submit a user test video.

One question, how you gonna deal with carousal on product image page, where you have many images of product displayed. Almost all e-commerce sites show it in form of carousels. Hope you have a better solution

Have you split-tested #7 by any chance? I know that Baymard recommends order the main menu items by sales volume. I’d be curious to see which layout performs best.

Also, I like AirBnB’s multi-field search (#3). Have you seen this implemented in ecommerce sites? I think I see this sort of component mostly on travelling websites.

Do you have any evidence whether a mobile “hamburger” menu should be positioned on the left- or right-side?

The example screenshot showed the logo on the top left, in the most visually prominent area of the so-called “golden triangle,” and the menu icon on the right.

Does placing the menu on the left or right impact usability or menu CTRs, in your experience? Have you seen/conducted any A/B tests on this topic?
