For definition of citizen science, see ECSA characteristics of citizen science | Yes, the StudWell, COP4HL and LLVinkhuizen all made/make use of CS methodology: StudWell is using crowdsourcing for the definition of the issue as well as the research question(s) and then plans to move forward in a full co-creative design (i.e. fully shared ownership of project by ecosystem involved). LLVinkhuizen operated on a participatory level of CS, neighbourhood inhabitants were invited to catalogue the neighbourhood using an online tool that was provided to them and results as well as following actions were discussed with them. COP4HL started as a distributive/minimally collaborating project, but grew in CS level when we found out we were tackling the wrong issues in the neighbourhood (ie not the most urgent ones to inhabitants); focus and scope of the project was redesigned to align with inhabitants’ wishes, whoe were then involved at every stage of research, but had no ownership (i.e. particiaptiev level). |
