Tiny Tails - Latest posts https://tinytails.community Latest posts A new Pokémon TCG Companion So this is a little different to other things I’ve published, but I’m sharing it here because it’s still tabletop-related.

I play a lot of Pokémon TCG with my kids - my son in particular. One thing we’ve found is that the damage counters get quite fiddly and easy to lose, and special conditions get difficult to track properly.

To help make this easier, I decided to make a digital tracker for all of it. In my traditional style, I went way overboard and made a Whole Thing out of it.

So, introducing:

Pokémon TCG Companion

The TCG Companion is a digital table to track Pokémon, damage, and conditions for two players on a single device alongside your physical games. No counters or tokens needed.

It is optimised for use on a tablet, but works well on any device.

I find the best way to use it is to load it up on a tablet and place the tablet on the table in between the two players.

The TCG Companion features include:

  • Fully laid out and customisable board with active and bench cards.

  • One side of the board inverted for double-sided play (with an optional rotation button included).

  • Features to track names, damage, and conditions on each card.

  • Autocomplete when entering Pokémon names.

  • Buttons to switch cards to the active spot or knock them out.

  • A coin for each player to flip as needed.

  • A movable on-screen keyboard for each player, allowing simultaneous typing.

  • Local memory to continue an existing game on each device.

  • Single-click game reset to start fresh.

  • Fully-accessible frontend, meeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.

This isn’t a replacement for a physical game as it doesn’t include the actual card details, prize cards, discards, or your deck. It is intended to be used alongside your physical games to replace the need for using the little damage counters, coins, and condition markers.

You can find the TCG Companion here:

I hope you find it useful!

If you like this and want to help me out with a public rating or review, you can do so on the Itch page - I’d really appreciate that!

Field Satchel #9: Tick-Tock Parrot We have a weird, fascinating, and downright fun item for you today:

Tick-Tick Parrot

A wooden and brass wind-up parrot, made by a toy maker with only one good eye. While its ability to mimic voices is uncanny, its timing leaves a lot to be desired…

A unique item that can help and cause mischief in equal measure. While this item was created with Mausritter in mind, it’s entirely system-agnostic and can be used in any tabletop game or system.

The full item is available for members to download here: Downloads for Field Satchel #9: Tick-Tock Parrot

Here’s a free preview of the item, with just two of its unique and interesting traits:

The full item has eight traits in total:

  • Ill-timed mimic
  • Angry retort
  • Dying words
  • Secret keeper
  • Helpful gratitude
  • Cold stutter
  • Restless wanderer
  • Clockwork alarm

On a personal note, this is my favourite item of those I’ve created in any context.

New user says hi!
hugh:

Honestly, a setting for Mausritter where you play as mice in a working human hotel could actually be pretty interesting…

It would be! Yet another one for the list of projects I don’t have enough time for!

New user says hi! And I almost forgot: one of the other things I translated to Dutch is Hugh’s adventure Whiskercliff Cemetary. It’s still available as a print edition under the name Begraafplaats Snorrendonk. Many thanks to Hugh for allowing me to publish a Dutch edition!

I’ve been meaning to make a Dutch digital edition of that adventure as well, but I haven’t gotten around to that yet (too many ideas, too little time…).

Hey folks - Hugh here  The Lawnmower Menace is fun!

I used it for introducing my wife and kids to Mausritter. My wife played very cautiously and tried to avoid anything that might be risky. Luckily, my kids wanted to engage with everything, so it turned into a very exciting adventure! Including the mice having to launch themselves over a flaming puddle of oil, because someone thought setting fire to the oil would be an effective way of overcoming that obstacle. :joy:

New user says hi! Hi everyone!

I’m new to Tiny Tails, finding my way here after backing the Rolling Coast crowdfunding. I’m a big fan of Mausritter, so it’s lovely to see all this great Mausritter content.

About myself: a few years ago I made the official Dutch edition of Mausritter. In 2024 we had a crowdfunding to get the printed edition made. The Dutch edition is still available in print (more info on my website) and of course digitally (pay what you want).

Currently, I’m working on a new project, a brand new adventure collection for Mausritter, inspired by the four seasons (the times of the year, not the hotels). This adventure collection will be available in Dutch and English. We are planning to launch the crowdfunding this April and it will be called:

  • Abundance & Adversity - four adventure-filled seasons
  • Overvloed & Ontberingen - vier jaargetijden vol avontuur

More info can be found on the Kickstarter page.

Tiny Tables #14: d66 Magical weapon traits This table contains 36 traits that can be given to weapons to make them magical or enhance their existing abilities. While these were all written with Mausritter in mind, they are generally system-agnostic and will work in any relevant game or system.

I came up with these after working on items like Rootfang and Tallowbrand, and coming up with so many possible traits, that a full table of them felt like they would make a good release.

You can use these when your players find a new weapon, or maybe if a local enchanter adds magical abilities to an existing weapon.

The full table of 36 things is available for paying members at this link, and here’s a free preview of the first 10 items in the table:

Field Satchel #7: Tallowbrand A magical staff topped with a persistent candle - designed for Mausritter, but will work for any TTRPG:

Role Call #10: Vrögbert the Forgetful Mage Since it’s likely far too subtle to be noticed, I’d like to point out that Vrögbert’s initials are VLC, a nod to the VLC Media Player that has a traffic cone as its icon. Kudos to fenris_77_redux in the Mausritter Discord for the idea!

Role Call #10: Vrögbert the Forgetful Mage We recently had a large influx of members into Tiny Tails community - all the backers of the Rolling Coast BackerKit campaign received their backer rewards, including a few months of membership to Tiny Tails. Welcome everyone!

This week’s release is one of my favourite characters I’ve created in a while, with artwork by my daughter, Rachel Lashbrooke, age 12:

Vrögbert the Forgetful Mage

Vrögbert Leopold Croakness will forget his own name if he doesn’t say it for a while. He might be a powerful mage, but no one is quite sure whether he actually is or not. He forgets where he puts his spells, how they work, or even how to read them, so his power doesn’t really manifest all that often.

He wasn’t always this way - by all accounts, his forgetfulness started sometime during his sixth winter, but he doesn’t really remember. It may have just been his age, a knock to the head, or even the result of a rival mage’s curse - Vrögbert has no way of knowing.

Paying members can find the full character details here.

Here’s a free preview of Vrögbert the Forgetful Mage:

The full character includes:

  • Unique custom artwork
  • Character stats
  • An interesting backstory
  • Mechanics for Vrögbert’s moments of memory recall
  • Details and mechanics for Vrögbert’s cone hat
  • d10 reasons Vrögbert lost his memory

Role Call #9: Gary the Ghost After taking a short break over Christmas and New Year’s after the huge success of the Rolling Coast BackerKit campaign, this is our first release for 2026! If you backed Rolling Coast, we’ll have the digital downloads for all of your rewards available very soon.

We’re kicking the year off with a new character, this one with artwork by my son, Noah Lashbrooke, age 9:

Gary the Ghost

Gary is a ghost - once a potion maker by trade, he now continues to brew, but people no longer trust his ghostly form. All he wants is to brew potions that make others happy, seeking to restore his good name so he can get back to what he loves.

While Gary was created with Mausritter in mind, he can be used in any tabletop RPG. He would work well as a colleague or rival of Pip Tilford.

Not only did Noah do the artwork, he told me the character’s general story. The left me to flesh out his backstory a little, write a stat block and give Gary a couple of interesting tables.

Paying members can find the full character details here.

Here’s a free preview of Gary the Ghost:

The full character includes:

  • Unique custom artwork
  • Character stats
  • An interesting backstory
  • d10 rumours about Gary (mostly untrue)
  • d10 ways to help Gary restore his name

Paying members can find the full character details here: Downloads for Role Call #9: Gary the Ghost

Adventure Sightings #2: Riverbend Valley This week’s release is something special and a little different. While it’s only the second in our Adventure Sightings series, it’s certainly the longest and most content-packed individual release so far!

Also, the Rolling Coast BackerKit campaign is coming to an end this week! If you haven’t backed it yet, there’s only a short amount of time left to do so…

As this release is so big and includes content comparable to a few months worth of our regular weekly releases, we’re going to take a short few weeks break with the weekly releases after this. A break will also give us time to focus on wrapping up the Rolling Coast BackerKit campaign effectively. We’ll be back with more Tiny Tails content in the new year!

Introducing: Riverbend Valley

Riverbend Valley is a campaign setting for Mausritter, that spans 24 pages of rich content. The zine comes with everything a Game Master needs to run an exciting campaign for themselves and a couple friends.

All the details in the book are rolled from the tables included in the core Mausritter rule book, making this as close to a core setting as you’ll find.

Inside the zine, you’ll find:

  • A hexcrawl packed with settlements and locations
  • 5 ready-to-run adventure sites
  • 7 thematic factions to populate the region
  • New creatures, items, and spells to encounter

Paying members can download the complete zine right here.

Tiny Tables #13: d66 Woodland revolutionaries This week’s release is inspired by The Baron’s Grip, another one of our fellow Mausritter Month projects.

This table contains 36 woodland revolutionaries. That’s characters who incite or lead a revolution that could appear in any game that has a woodland, forest, or small critter setting. While it was created with Mausritter in mind, it is entirely system-agnostic and will work in any relevant game or system.

:information_source: This is part of an ongoing series for Tiny Tails, producing tables each with 36 items (i.e. d66). They are available in full to paying members, with the first 10 items of each table published for anyone to download for free (see below!).

Tiny Tables #12: d66 Kitchen finds for Mausritter Once again, this week’s release is a homage to another fellow Mausritter Month project. This time we took inspiration from Soul Food by Diogo Barros and created a table of 36 things that mice could find in the kitchen. All of these are usable items in any game of Mausritter. The list includes useful items, magic items, weapons, armour, and one particularly vicious torture device.

Well, that setting is coming to print in a deluxe boxset filled with goodies!

Rolling Coast, an amusement park setting for Mausritter, is funding on BackerKit until 4 December.

Inside you’ll find everything you need to run a sprawling sandbox campaign:

  • A full hexcrawl to explore the park grounds and beyond.

  • 3 detailed settlements where mice scheme, trade, and survive.

  • 9 adventure sites, each brimming with dangers and mysteries.

  • 11 all-new factions vying for influence under the neon lights.

  • Over 20 new creatures lurking in food carts, water rides, and forgotten corners.

  • More than 20 unique items scavenged from the human world.

  • Fresh spells to empower your adventurers.

  • And much more to surprise both players and GMs!

All set to be published in a complete 100+ page, hardcover book.

Backers can receive the full hardcover book, PDFs of the setting, an A3 region map, item sheets, character standees, modular dungeon tiles, custom character sheets, and more. Stretch goals will add even more digital and physical goodies for all backers!

As you explore Rolling Coast, you’ll start in the humble Hamlet of Snackburg, then venture across roller coasters, creaking ferris wheels, and strange waters. Every ride is a realm, every choice shapes the future of the coast. But beware—change is coming, and it may shake more than just the rides…

Intrigued?

Back Rolling Coast on BackerKit today!

Rolling Coast is part of Mausritter Month - 16 expansive projects from different creators, all funding on BackerKit through the month of November.

Rolling Coast is created by Matthew Morris (ManaDawn Tabletop Games) and Hugh Lashbrooke (Ten Acre Games). Both are veteran Mausritter third-party creators, with credits including Bernpyle, Kiwi Acres, Tomb of a Thousand Doors, 10 Downing, and dozens of other supplements for OSR and indie RPG systems. Matthew and Hugh have been collaborating on the Tiny Tails Patreon to create the Rolling Coast setting over the last 18 months.

Adventure Sightings #1: The Azure Cavern Welcome to a new content series on Tiny Tails: Adventure Sightings!

Adventure Sightings are one-shot adventures primarily for Mausritter, that can be downloaded and printed at home. These will usually be in trifold pamphlet format, but may be different front time to time. These adventures will be standalone and able to be used in any setting or campaign.

So, without further ado, introducing:

The Azure Cavern

Deep within the frost-bitten hollow known as the Azure Cavern lies an abandoned winter depot built by stoic field-mice of the Old Kingdom. Once a safe haven, it was shattered by the rampage of a massive burrowing badger. In its wake now linger restless frost-spirits, drawn to a hidden tomb beneath the storehouse—
the forgotten resting place of Queen Merynia Leafcloak, beloved artist-queen of the Autumn Courts.

Recently, strange lights flicker in the night sky and priceless ancestral artwork has begun to vanish from the nearby mouse hamlets. Something hungry — and bitterly lonely — now dwells beneath the ice…

Field Satchel #3: The Hollow Shuffle This third entry in our Field Satchel series is a bigger one than usual. We missed a release last week due to personal circumstances, but this should more than make up for that.

The Hollow Shuffle

A full set of 54 playing cards - the paper feels soft yet unnaturally durable. The deck magically resizes to the bearer’s paws. Faint whispers can be heard when the cards are shuffled. Each card produces a different magical effect when drawn and cast.

Crafted by four rival hedge-witches for the Hollowburrow clan[1], the deck went missing, unused by its owner, when the family was betrayed and their hollow burned. Each witch infused their magic into one suit, creating a deck of untold and mysterious power.

Any regular deck of cards can be used when playing.

The full deck is available for paying members to download here: Downloads for Field Satchel #3: The Hollow Shuffle

Here’s a sample of some of the card effects:

  • Grow in size to warband-scale for d6 minutes.
  • You may force one reroll from any character or the GM.
  • Summon a stag beetle familiar for d6 hours.
  • Two nearby plants are animated for d6 minutes; following simple commands.
  • Shadows envelop your head, blinding you for d6+10 minutes.
  • Roll 3d20 and keep one result to use for your next save.
  • Redirect up to d6 damage to one nearby creature.
  • Permanently lose 2 inventory slots.
  • Instantly extinguish all light sources you can see.
  • An exact duplicate of you appears for 1 hour, doing the opposite of whatever you command.

and 62 more…

The full deck is available for paying members to download here: Downloads for Field Satchel #3: The Hollow Shuffle

Additionally, this item is available as a one-time purchase for anyone who isn’t already a member of Tiny Tails - you can find it here:

Also available on Itch

Once a noble-born mouse of the Hollowburrow clan, her family was betrayed and scattered by mole mercenaries hired by an unknown party. Vivienne vanished after the attack, presumed dead. Years later, sightings of a swift shadow spread across the territories. She now serves as a sword-for-hire with her own code of justice, seeking the truth behind her family’s fall.

Field Satchel #2: The Idol of Caedmus Calmshore The second entry in our Field Satchel series! This is a magical idol with a collection of passive effects and active abilities.

The Idol of Caedmus Calmshore

A weathered stone carving of a capybara head, serene and peaceful. Its eyes are inlaid with dull glass beads, and the base bears wave-like carvings.

Many seasons ago, after a particularly wet winter, the wetland mice built tiny levees to hold back the rising mud. While building, they uncovered this carved idol, dedicated to Caedmus Calmshore, the capybara who once ruled these lands.

Legends say that Caedmus would use his considerable size to hold back the winter floods, protecting his smaller subjects from their onslaught. This idol was carved as a vessel to contain his spirit after he passed.

Here’s a free preview of the item, with the full item details available for paying members at this link:

The full item includes:

  • 3 passive effects: Aura of Tranquility, Healing Rest, and Burden of Stillness
  • 2 active abilities: Spirit of Caedmus and Water’s Memory
  • d6 rumours about the idol

As a bonus, here’s a free capybara creature stat block for use in any game of Mausritter.

A regular schedule and fresh, ongoing content Now that we’ve wrapped up the Rolling Coast setting that we created and published here on Tiny Tails, @ManaDawnTTG and I have been working on new content that we have been releasing over the least few months.

:loudspeaker: We’re also gearing up for the physical release of Rolling Coast, packed with awesome extras. Follow the project on BackerKit to stay up to date. Find all published Rolling Coast content at rolling-coast.

Those who have been around for a bit will have noticed that we have started a few new series of content recently. At the same time, we’ve increased the frequency of our releases.

So, going forward, we’re formally committing to releasing new content once per week (and maybe more often from time to time).

What will that content look like? I’m glad you asked!

Content series

We will be continuing to publish weekly content in four different series:

  • Tiny Tables: A series of d66 tables (i.e. tables with 36 items each) on a variety of different things. Find them all at tiny-tables.

  • Role Call: A collection of unique and diverse characters for your tabletop games. Find them all at role-call.

  • Field Satchel: A variety of interesting and novel items to make games exciting and give players some unique loot to collect. Find them all at field-satchel.

  • Adventure Sightings: A series of ready-to-play one-shot adventures with everything you need to play them at your game table. The first one is coming out in September!

If we think of other series, we may introduce them along the way, but those will be the four core ones we’ll work with.

Content formats

Each weekly release will have a free preview for anyone to download, that will be posted in the public Releases category. The full content for each release will then be posted in the private Members category, that is exclusive to paying members of the Tiny Tails Patreon.

:mouse: Join on Patreon to gain access to the private members-only category for all content and downloads.

As with everything we publish, it will primarily be content designed for Mausritter, with occasional pieces built to be system-neutral.

Thanks to all of our members and followers for the support! We appreciate you and hope that you’re enjoying the content you receive from Tiny Tails.

Please don’t hesitate to comment on any release to let us know what you think about it! We would also love to hear about how any of it has impacted your game table

See you at the next weekly content drop!

New mausritter adventure site! A fissure has opened. The beetles are missing. Something ancient stirs beneath.

Near the beetle-farming colony of Burrowmark, a jagged crack has torn open the earth. The so-called World-Wound hums when no one is listening. Mice tasked with guarding it have vanished—leaving behind only scattered gear, muttered warnings, and gnawed bones. Beetles are disappearing. Now mice are too.

Beneath the fissure, the truth festers: a Jerusalem Cricket, swollen and twitching, twisted by parasitic mites and maddening gas, now haunts the dark. It is not alone.

The beetle-farmers offer 750 pips and a rhino beetle companion to any adventurers brave—or foolish—enough to descend.

Can your party survive the suffocating gas, outsmart the Creeper, and prevent the Wound from spreading?

Warden of the World-Wound is a short A5 pamphlet adventure for Mausritter featuring:

  • A claustrophobic descent into a toxic sinkhole riddled with gas, insects, and fear
  • A mite-infested Jerusalem Cricket—a grounded, non-fantastical horror
  • 9-point vertical caverncrawl with natural hazards, caved tunnels, and eerie ambient threats
  • New conditions: Infested and Radiation Poisoning
  • A devious relic, the Wounding Stone, which both empowers and destroys
  • Designed for one-shots, convention play, or as a grim detour in your ongoing campaign

Warden of the World-Wound is an independent production by ManaDawn Tabletop Games and is not affiliated with Losing Games. It is published under the Maursitter Third-Party License.

Mausritter is copyright Losing Games.

This adventure was created for and submitted to the Appx. N Jam

The idea for a grounded, non-fantasy adventure site for Mausritter was inspired by Clayton Notestine’s Haus Rules for Mausritter blog post of Explorers Design

Rolling Coast #17: Mech parts

We’ve been creating new modules for Rolling Coast for 18 months, so we’re excited to introduce you to the final release for the Rolling Coast setting:

Mech parts!

Back in February, we published Gears of Glory - a mech-battling adventure set within Rolling Coast that allows players to build and pilot warband-scale mechs. The module comes with a mech combat arena, rules for combat, and the freedom for players to use their mechs to take on any other creatures they like. It even includes a new mech sheet to work as your mouse’s mech character sheet.

The thing we never included in the module were the actual mech parts! You can create your own based on the rules in the module, of course, but it sure would be nice if there were a few pre-built parts you could find…

Well, look no further! This release includes a sheet of mech parts that you can use on the mech sheets. It comes with:

  • 6 mech arms
  • 6 mech legs
  • 6 mech torsos
  • 6 mech heads
  • A few blank item cards to make your own mech parts

All the artwork on the mech parts has been expertly drawn by @ManaDawnTTG.

Since the mech parts use the standard Mausritter item card sizes, you can use them alongside your existing item cards with ease, and create your own using the blank cards that come with core Mausritter.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the mech parts you’ll find in this module, available to paying members here:

Rolling Coast #16: Descent into Madness Perfect timing! This is made for Rolling Coast, but it really could be implemented in any setting.
