Back in its second year, TM Forum is bringing together enterprise developers, designers and technologists from around the world to create, hack and deliver meaningful solutions to improve the quality of life through innovative applications.  If you're passionate about developing the latest technology, tools and services for tomorrow's smart citizen in the picturesque host city of Nice, France then register for FREE.  Participants will have two days to build and code their app solution with help from TM Forum experts and our partners, Ericsson, IBM, Orange and FIWARE while they compete for over €20,000 worth of prizes, including €11,000 cash.  

Winners will also be recognized at TM Forum Live! on June 1st during the VIP Gala & Awards, and will have the opportunity to demo their solution during the event. 

This hackathon is about building on common infrastructure such as standardized APIs to enable scalability, growth and ease of integration. Reach across ecosystems with our digital toolbox to create enterprise solutions in the smart citizen space!

Eligibility

We welcome all those who feel they can make a positive contribution to a team. Example roles include:  Developers, Designer, Students, Entrepreneur, Urban Experts and Data Scientist.

Recommended experience:

  • REST APIs (Python, Java, Javascript, C##)
  • HTML 5
  • Mobile Applications
  • System Integration
  • Exposure to TMF SLA, Trouble Ticket, Product Order and Product Catalogue APIs an advantage

Requirements

Please Create:

  • A usuable application related to smart citizens living in a smart city.  You can choose one f the challenges available to be eligible for the prize assocatiated with that challenge, or design a solution to a problem of your own devising

Please Use:

  • TM Forum and Sponsor Platforms and APIs
  • Other Technologies : You are also able to use source code, sample code, libraries, SDKs, and APIs as long as these technologies are: Publicly discoverable and available for public use in developing applications., and provided that such code or previous versions must (a) have been publicly available on the internet before 1 May 2015, and (b) be indexed and reachable through Google’s search engine, and (c) be easily accessible (i.e., anyone can download or access if signup is required, access must be granted within 3 hours).

How to enter

  • In order to participate in the Hackathon, you must register at http://www.eventbrite.com/e/tm-forum-hackathon-smart-citizens-in-a-smart-city-registration-16678819799?aff=webpage by midnight CET on Tuesday, May 26th.
  • You must also check-in onsite and in person at the Hackathon between 930am and 1030am on Friday May 29.
  • A maximum of five eligible individuals will permitted per team. Your entire team must register as a team on ChallengePost by 10:00am Saturday, 30 May 2015. Pick your team members carefully because after this point, you will not be allowed to switch teams, or add or remove team members.
  • You will be issued a badge on site that you must wear visibly while at the venue.
