Will look to include in our online course and upcoming Summit.

I shall miss the old version and I plan to adapt to the new version. I trust you improved the “unity” of the social media serves, since that is what we need. Bravo.

Thanks for the feedback. Our new Weekly Digest will have the stats you’re looking for. And, you can change your “Spotlight” whenever needed, which I think addresses your concern about only doing “one thing”?

I appreciate the cleanliness of presentation and update to improve multi-screen responsiveness, but the loss of ability to “drill down” right on the about.me page is a bummer. The loss of analytics and other information is also unfortunate.

I really liked that I could use about.me as an online version of a resume of sorts, without sending people to LinkedIn directly. I appreciated that I had a greater level of control over the presentation of my information on about.me, and that I could show multiple facets of who I am and what I do, which now is less visible than it was previously.

If I only wanted to say one thing about myself, and advertise that “I can do THIS thing” then this redesign would be fine. But I don’t do just one thing, and I doubt a lot of other people do either, *especially* in this new gig-economy where people are constantly reinventing themselves.

Now, I like that you link to social network profiles… but it looks like chat-based interfaces are the new hotness. Where do you see about.me help discover people on these chat services?

Comment on Breaking-Away. by leeanndodson51 https://tonyconrad.wordpress.com/2013/09/26/breaking-away/#comment-580 Sat, 21 Feb 2015 20:49:39 +0000 http://tonyconrad.wordpress.com/?p=220#comment-580 And now,, in 2015,,,still a very relevant post. When I go into my studio and just paint all day and into the night I go into a meditative sort of place that is very focused and productive. I am so ADD that if I don’t purposely shut my mind down to everything else,,,(that ongoing inner talk nagging you to think about this and that and what about the dishes in the sink, the bills needing to be paid, and gosh, I’ve got to post on FB soon…) I will not paint…. I will not produce…. I run around like a chicken with their head cut off ( possibly only people from Arkansas will understand that one)… Attempting to balance that GIGANTIC WORLD available in these tiny little devices with the real and present world in one’s immediate discernment is challenging. Maybe, because I am definitely old enough to have the perspective of what life was like without the internet, I am very familiar with the difference. It is huge. Thanks.

I’m finding about.me a fascinating platform both to personally utilize and quite interesting to uncover tons of interesting people form all over. It is clean, beautifully designed, easy to use, and does fill a niche unlike any other social networking platforms I am familiar with.
