]]>When connecting with our talent partners across the investment landscape, we often hear the question “when is the right time to bring up interim as a solution for my portcos.”
There are often preconceived notions that dissuade a company from considering an interim executive as a ready and available answer to their acute business needs. From the quality of the talent to the hands-on nature of the role, a permanent hire often seems like the only viable option.
The interim landscape is changing, however. Over the last few years, more and more executives at the top of their game are looking for flexible working solutions and are ready to jump in at a moment’s notice to bring their expertise and hands on approach to bear and help companies thrive.
We parsed through the multiple use cases we encounter and put together a helpful guide to drive the conversation with a portco in need of talent solutions.

]]>It’s part of a larger article discussing the growing trend of hiring contract executives, also known as CXOs. These contract executives, who are experienced and highly skilled professionals, are becoming popular for various reasons. In the current market conditions, companies are more hesitant to commit to long-term expensive solutions, including permanent hires. Contract executives provide an alternative solution, allowing companies to bring in experts for specific projects or transitions such as mergers, acquisitions, or initial public offerings. They can also serve as an intermediary step for organizations considering permanent hires, providing an opportunity to assess compatibility and increase the chances of long-term success.
Erin Peterson is the head of talent for private equity firm Great Hill Partners. She mentioned TrueBridge as a partner that can handle the administrative side of interim work so executives can focus on the roles. ]]>LONDON, U.K. – May 10, 2023 –TrueBridge, the premiere interim, fractional and advisory executive search firm, announced today it has launched in the United Kingdom with a network of highly-vetted, experienced senior executives ready to lead at venture capital and private equity-backed companies for high-impact engagements.
Experienced interim executive recruiter Lydia Denham leads TrueBridge’s U.K. operations from London, reporting to CEO David Beuerlein in the U.S. Together, their backgrounds exemplify strengths of the TrueBridge offering. Rooted in technology, TrueBridge offers clients an intimate understanding of the talent needs of VC and PE companies. Mr. Beuerlein is an executive recruiting veteran: He founded Google’s executive recruiting team and led talent acquisition for VC firm Khosla Ventures. Ms. Denham led the interim division at the U.K. firm Capital Futures, which recruits for PE-backed SaaS companies.
“We’ve been in stealth mode in the UK since late 2022, focused on building and vetting our elite network of interim talent,” said Mr. Beuerlein. “We’re now going to market with these functional experts who are ready to fill interim positions of critical importance to investor-backed companies in the UK and wider Europe.”
TrueBridge differentiates itself from existing interim services because of the strength of the senior executives in their network and the deep knowledge of the VC and PE ecosystems. As part of the True Platform, TrueBridge also benefits from close coordination with its global sister-companies, executive search firm True Search and the inclusive, executive hiring platform AboveBoard.
“We’ve fielded immense interest in our offerings across functions where our TrueBridge Network Europe members have expertise including the chief financial officer, chief HR officer, chief marketing officer and chief technology officer roles.” said Lydia Denham. “We look forward to serving the needs of our clients and candidates in the UK and beyond.”
It’s clear that TrueBridge’s focus on high-quality candidates resonates with potential clients and addresses a real market need for an interim executive search service tailored to the needs of investor-backed businesses.
The launch of TrueBridge in the UK builds on the success in the U.S., where TrueBridge has made a lasting impact on the leadership teams of large companies like SeatGeek and Recharge. TrueBridge is uniquely positioned to fully assess a company’s short-term talent needs–and then solve those talent needs quickly and efficiently–making it a true value-add in the search process. Well-known investors including Bain Capital and Accel have cited TrueBridge as a much-needed talent partner, and more than 3,500 candidates have asked to join the company’s highly-vetted and select network of experienced executives.

]]>The article explored how fractional executive roles are gaining traction as workers are living longer and working through to later stages in life–and as later career, experienced executives are seeking out opportunities for more flexibility.
David told the WSJ’s Francesca Fontana, that fractional executives in the TrueBridge Talent Network are highly-experienced and highly sought after in their respective industries because of their track records of success. “In our talent pool, the median years of experience is 26 years,” he said.
One of those experienced TrueBridge Talent Network members is fractional CMO Karyn Scott. She said, “I needed all of those experiences, to be at the big companies like Cisco and Salesforce, at the scrappy startups, so that I could come to my clients with a broader portfolio.”
The future of work is always changing. At True, we see many different versions of that future–and one of them is fractional.
