A conglomeration of fragments

The one tiny silver lining is it sucked for actual real sucky reasons, not just my brain being an asshole. Doesn't make it suck less, but at least I don't have to worry about brain management.

Mostly it's just been stupid everyday shit - Sushi PLEASE STOP PEEING IN THINGS OTHER THAN THE LITTERBOX - which is annoying and ruins your day but isn't, you know, otherwise noteworthy.

But I also found out that the one youtuber who I kind of keep up with fucking died a couple of days ago, and that just. Sucks. So bad.

It's not like we were personally close, or anything, but her work is stuff I keep coming back to. I don't know how many hours I've spent knitting/otherwise crafting with it on, let alone every other time I've decided I felt like watching things. Hundreds, though, at a minimum. And sure it's parasocial, but what with all the anecdotes and stuff spread around you do get the feeling of knowing someone, at least on an acquaintance level, and... now she's dead.

So yeah. I'm really fucking sad. Today fucking sucked.

Ugh, back in sanding hell. This time it's hell because I checked on the undercoat, and it says if you wanna put it on oil based paints you need to sand it back far enough all the shiny's gone. That is. That is a lot.

Particularly since I can't use the electric sander for most of it - the bookshelves are too short to get it in there orz orz orz. Can do the backs, and the sides, but yeaaaaaah. Tops and bottoms gotta be hand sanded. I THINK I got one at least mostly done, but I'll have to check tomorrow. I was wiping the dust off as I went with a damp cloth, so hard to say for sure if the shiny's all gone when it's still damp. :/

Also started repainting the bits of the roof that need it, and. Ugh. It's gonna take FOREVER, I can tell already. Combination of 'have to use a tiny brush because of the precision required' and 'need to concentrate REALLY REALLY HARD', alas, so there's no real way of speeding it up. Just need to keep doing it until the brain gets tired! And then sanding because that doesn't need brain, that just needs muscles. And then when muscles are protesting too much, time for a break. Yes. Something like that, anyway.

Thinking I might need to hit some bits with the paint stripper, too. Curved bit at the top, bits at the sides where even the hand sander can't get in easily, that kind of thing. Bleeeeeeeh, it's gonna be a pain I can tell already. But OH WELL at least!!! This is the last thing that needs this sort of treatment! Probably!

Main painting thing today was peeling off the tape from the roof and filling in any missed bits with a very small brush. It was. Uh. Well it needed doing but WOW it ate concentration liek woah so yeah it took forever.

Also my poor roof needs the edges done again, fuck that fucking crumbling filler uuuuugh. (Also there's a bit where I got undercoat on the roof and in cleaning it off wore a hole in the paint which is. Not. Not good. :|) Hopefully it can all be done with the paint I have but it was pretty close to done and I'm uh. Not sure it doesn't need at least one more coat given... all that. Sigh.

I also did multiplayer Terraria this afternoon, which was fun and not interrupted by an asshole cat breaking things! \o/ And I baked zucchini bread again. Hopefully A will come over tomorrow and take some with her, I have. So many zucchinis a-fucking-gain. (I'm also out of choc chips again. I just. Why. Why so much.)

Aaand I stayed up way too late as fucking usual but I'mma go to bed now. Yes. >:

Very tired day again. Annoying!

What's also annoying is that I found a goddamn zucchini literally the size of my forearm - I really REALLY wish that was an exaggeration but I went to the extent of taking a picture of them side by side to compare, and no. It is forearm sized - this morning, so I was all 'yup, GOTTA buy more cocoa', but I checked my bank account and I don't have enough to order a bulk amount and won't until probably Friday. Ugh. So I just got some at the supermarket, which is annoying but I had to go and get milk anyway so at least there's that. Gotta wash the pans before making more bread, though. >>;;; Fuck I hate doing dishes.

I did, however, have a goddamn brainwave, and moved one of the nice comfy chairs from its usual spot looking at the tv, so it instead looks out the window, and consequentially gets the good afternoon sun :3 :3 :3 So I flopped out on that with it extended all the way back and dozed for half an hour or so this afternoon, A++ will do again. (Though of course Sushi wanted to play underneath it while I was moving it, so that was a bit nerve wracking... sigh. Cats.)

Got a coat done on the walls, plus a little bit of rollering on the upper walls, since they were a bit blotchy still. Probably gonna need a third coat at least, maybe more in some places, but have to wait for it to properly dry to be able to tell and then I was just. Very sleepy. So I am going to bed now yes.

So this morning I went down the shops! Went to the hardware store and got a new roller cover and a replacement brush for the one that's already fucking falling apart, as planned. Also got some more sanding sheets for the hand sander - fucking HOW do I keep running through them, ugh, I know I'm sanding but isn't sandpaper supposed to last a while?? - and! New blades for my stanley knife, which I only figured out how to fucking change yesterday, and IDEK when I got it. Pretty sure I inherited it, too, and it's uh not made any more in this particular form sooo it's probably at least 30 years old at this point orz. And most importantly, blades for the one paint scraper with replaceable blades!

( This is possibly too much power for a me to have... )

Also swung by the supermarket and picked up yogurt (for zucchini bread) and ice cream (for when it gets hot next), though it wasn't really a proper shop as such. Just a might as well since I have to walk past anyway.

My life is verra boring at the moment, I know, hahaha. But we'll see how the upper walls are tomorrow! Hopefully they'll be done, and I can move onto the lower walls, which will definitely be faster because I won't have to keep moving the FUCKING LADDER around every five seconds. Also no cornices!!!

Made more zucchini bread today, and I'm running out of ingredients AGAIN and aaaaaaargh. EXTREMELY tempted to just do a bulk order for the stuff I can get from the one shop near A's place. Can't do much about yoghurt, and I don't want to have to buy eggs, but everything else is kind of. Why. Why must I keep buying them all the freaking time. Bleh!!!

I harvested another four zucchini today, two of which aren't as huge as some I've had but are at least twice as big as I've been trying to pick them - how the fuck do they hide like this, I have no idea - so I probably have at least one more batch of bread from that by itself. I still have another batch's worth of shredded in the fridge!!! Mama is just. Not allowed to plant zucchini when she's not going to be here to actually eat it again. No. It is way too much for one person, damnit!

Other than that, did a lot less painting than I wanted, because holy shit it was humid as FUCK today, and the two sessions I did before nightfall resulted in me having to go pass out for a couple of hours. Dear humidity: plz die. (Just checked, and it's currently over 80%. No fucking wonder I wilted.)

I also cleaned the kitchen a LOT, which is a thing I've been putting off for. A while. >>;; Still have some dishes to do, but at least the sink has been scrubbed now...

I have FINALLY started painting actual colour on my walls! Finally! :D

Only got the cornices and the cutting in done today - well, I was GONNA do a roller as well, but when I came out for a break before that it was uh 1:20 and I thought maaaybe that would be a bad idea - but it's SO NICE to have some actual COLOUR in there. I expect I'll get some of the same 'don't know if paint is blotchy or my eyes are playing tricks on me' problems that I got with the white, but definitely nowhere near as many. White is a bitch for that kind of thing, at least for me.

Anyway, definitely don't have the full effect yet, but it's looking good so far! Contrasts nicely with the roof, too, mwahahaha.

I actually got up and did a session when I fed the cats this morning, which I'm pretty proud of! I was tired but I've been sleeping like crap for some reason, so I said fuckit and did some work rather than attempting to nap. It really worked in that I passed the fuck out for several hours afterwards. (Though some of that wasn't because I did work but because I uh didn't eat properly. Like, I had a slice of zucchini bread, but that is not enough for manual labour, sorta thing.)

Might do the same thing tomorrow, but I'm more likely to go down to the shops - I'm almost out of milk and snacks. Should probably get some more food-type things too, though I've got enough pasta sauce for at least a few more days so it's not so urgent. And Terraria in the afternoon! :3 So we'll see how much painting I get done, but if nothing else the first coat will be finished, for sure! >:

That's all I got done painting-wise, but fuckit. Done with undercoat!!! This included another round of sand and fill, for the lower walls. Can't be fucked for the upper walls, might sand them when doing more cornice shit but ugh, moving the ladder around constantly is just. So annoying.

In cooking news, which is what I was focusing on today, I did in fact use the food processor on all the zucchini I had picked and I got... somewhat more than NINE FUCKING CUPS worth. What. That's absolutely ridiculous! That's six more loaves of bread, is what it is! HALF A DOZEN LOAVES.

Anyway, I chucked the bit over into the pasta sauce I was making, as well as shredding the carrots in the bottom of the fridge that were still good, so now I have delicious bolognaise! :V :V :V So, pasta for a while, yesss. :3

Tomorrow, I'm not sure how much painting I'll get done - it's my cousin's engagement party, and I'm kind of obligated to go and take the present, since everyone else can't go. Also, you know, family event, should go, etc. etc.

Anyway that starts at kittydinnertime, so I'll need to be clean and dressed up fancy (...and wrap the present, I keep forgetting to do that) before then. So uh. No painting until AFTER I get home, I get too much paint on me. (Even after washing all the stuff I still have paint on my hands from today orz orz orz. That's WITH the scrapey soap!!!)

My auntie's picking me up and dropping me off, and hopefully she won't want to stay too late - she lives pretty far away and has dogs, so - but depending on How Much Social I may be pretty pancaked by the time I get back. Soooo we'll see, I guess!

Soooo I got almost nothing done today, because... my hand hurts when I try and do much with it. I think it was the grating, in the end - my arm and shoulder are sore in that muscles-complaining-you-exercised-them way, but the pain in my hand is sharp, particularly when holding on to things.

So yeah, think it was the amount of grating, since you have to hold the zucchini pretty firmly for it, and uh. The zucchini I grated were a bit too fat for my little hands to hold on easily. :/

Luckily I haven't found any more massive ones, all the other zucchini I have left after I finish grating the one I only did partially are much more standard zucchini size, and I have been checking more diligently for hiding bastard zucchini. But, well, always possible they hide better than I look, so it's just a fingers crossed sorta thing. Still, at least I know I shouldn't do too much grating with them! Maybe I'll split them in half if I get any more, that would probably help.

Anyway, only did about one wall of cornices, so I've still got another wall left to go until the second undercoat is done. :/ Sibling let me know today that the floors'll probably have to wait a few months to get done, so I've got a lot less of a time pressure, which is helpful. Still want things finished though, goddamnit! But I'll take it easy until my hand hurts less, for sure.

I don't think I've been awake twelve hours total yet today, but I'm still fucking exhausted. Bed now! Hopefully will have more energy tomorrow, yes. >:

Undercoat is done!

Well.

The first coat of the undercoat is done, it needs another coat, particularly on the cornices. It's not gonna change the colour subtly, it's too patchy and it'd just be. Bad. :/ The walls themselves seem a bit better, but hard to say for sure until they've actually dried!

We ended up actually having TWO tins of undercoat out back! The first one had a giant lump stuck to the bottom I couldn't get to dissolve back in to make it actually paint again, and the second one was brown. Probably due to rust, the lid was uh. Yeaaaah. :| This is what happens when things are left out in the weather!!! Sigh.

So yeah, had to go to bunnings fucking again, ugh. It was raining as well, which was super fun. At least my parking's getting a little better?? Also I stopped at the kebab shop on the way back, so that was a nice little reward for myself.

Other than that... multiplayer Terraria, which was super fun as usual! Also put together the dry ingredients for more zucchini bread, but it was game time after that so I haven't finished it yet. Tomorrow! I was trying to learn from my mistakes and not stay up stupid late but uh.

Well.

Let's just say I heard the garbage truck go past and that alerted me to how stupidly late I'm up. Whoops... Anyway, time for a nap before Sushi yells at me for his breakfast!
