The United Houma Nation is seeking volunteers to help in our food booth at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival on April 23rd through May 3rd! Sign up to serve traditional dishes such as fry bread, corn maque choux and Indian tacos to festgoers. Volunteers will be fed and will also get to enjoy the festival! The inaugural United Houma Nation Women’s Gala takes place on Saturday, March 14th, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at 7880 Main Street in Houma, La. Although this is a free event for enrolled UHN women ages 18 and older, registration is required – so please be sure to complete the registration form below to RSVP and secure your spot before the March 7th deadline! Dinner and entertainment will be provided. Formal attire is required.

United Houma Nation, Inc., the 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation closely affiliated with the United Houma Nation tribal government, seeks proposals from Landscape Architects and qualified landscape architecture firms to provide green infrastructure and site planning services for the exterior grounds of the historic Daigleville School located at 8542 East Main Street in Houma, Louisiana.
The historic Daigleville School is listed on the National Register of Historic Places for its contribution to the education of Native American students during the era of segregation. The building is to be retrofitted into a resilience hub during gray skies and a community space during blue skies. The site design must support public access while respecting the historic character of the property.

NEW DATE FOR NEXT TRIBAL COUNCIL MEETING: Out of respect for the funeral of Mr. John Barbry of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, the Tribal Council meeting has been postponed to February 21, 2026. The location and time will remain the same.
Mr. Barbry was a Champion of the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe’s cultural preservation and education efforts, and served as its Director of Development and Programming. He was also a friend to the United Houma Nation, and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, the Tunica-Biloxi Tribe, and to all who are mourning his passing.
