The Anthropic AI Hackathon challenges students to design safe, creative, and human-centered AI systems using the Claude API. Over 20 days, teams explore new ways AI can reason, align, and collaborate with humans, building projects ranging from reasoning assistants and research copilots to tools that improve accessibility, education, and civic engagement. Participants will have access to mentorship, workshops, and networking opportunities with our sponsors, including Anthropic, RBC, UofT AI, and UofT Blueprint. The hackathon culminates in a live Demo Day at UofT Myhal, where teams present their projects to judges and compete for prizes, fostering a vibrant environment of collaboration, innovation, and human-centered AI development.
Requirements
Teams are required to submit a demo video (≤5 minutes) showcasing their project, a GitHub repository containing all code and documentation, and a short writeup (≤500 words) explaining the motivation, impact, and problem-solving approach of their project. If a team is entering Track 3, they must also submit a PDF presentation, and their demo video becomes optional if they are only doing that track. Submissions should clearly demonstrate how the AI system aligns with the hackathon tracks, whether that’s reasoning systems, human-centered AI, or the Agentiiv scholarship challenge. All deliverables must be uploaded to Devpost by Nov 22, 11:59 PM EST to be eligible for judging. Projects may also be considered for the General Track if they show exceptional technical mastery or creativity. Sponsors Anthropic, RBC, UofT AI, and UofT Blueprint will be actively involved in mentorship, judging, and prize allocation.
