VANIX is proud to announce two new Board Members!

VANIX, is a not-for-profit Internet Exchange (IX) with multiple locations in the Vancouver, BC region. Our mission is interconnecting networks to reduce costs and improve performance for the benefit of our community.

Internet exchanges provide valuable peering points where network operators connect with content providers, enabling fast, secure and affordable global internet service.

To help better serve our mandate, members and overall goals, the VANIX Board of Directors have selected two technology leaders Clarence Lee and James Delorme to join the team. Their individual strengths and accomplishments will build capacity in the already stellar VANIX organization. These appointments contribute to the long-term succession planning of VANIX, and local community based governance.

Our Chair Scott Jamieson stated in relation to the appointments, “These two executives have bolstered our capacity to deliver projects that benefit our participants and community stakeholders across our region. Clarence and James provide a renewed sense of enthusiasm to the Board, and VANIX will greatly benefit from having them on the team.”

VANIX introduces new lower port fees, again! This represents our continued commitment to support the members, participants and sponsors of the exchange. We continue to expand our switch locations and network resilience, all while delivering more and bigger ports to a growing list of participants. Each new ordered port supports the exchange by driving connectivity and traffic volume while allowing the organization to continue lowering your port fees.

As we celebrate VANIX’s 10th year anniversary and now consistently exceed 350 Gbps of traffic, we want to thank you for your continued trust, your growing utilization of the exchange, and your encouragement of industry peers to join us. Here’s to the next decade of growth and collaboration!

With support from CIRA’s Net Good Grants, VANIX is thrilled to help bring this important initiative to life. Together, we’re strengthening local connectivity and building digital resilience across the Okanagan.
