LearningApps.org is a Web 2.0 application supporting learning and teaching with small interactive modules. Those modules can be used directly in learning materials, but also for self studying. The platform is open to educational institutions of all kinds: kindergarten, primary school, secondary school, high schools, vocational schools, technical schools as well as publishers for educational textbooks and companies within the field of education. LearningApps.org is developed and maintained by the nonprofit organization LearningApps - interactive modules.

LearningApps.org is developed as a research and development project at Pädagogische Hochschule PHBern (Dr. Michael Hielscher, Prof. Dr. Werner Hartmann), in cooperation with Universität Mainz (Prof. Dr. Franz Rothlauf) and the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Görlitz (Prof. Dr. Christian Wagenknecht). The idea and technical implementation are based on ProgrammingWiki.de (Christian Wagenknecht, Michael Hielscher) and the prototypes Questix and Matchix - authoring tools for multimedia matching exercises (Markus Sauter, Ruedi Arnold, Werner Hartmann).
The platform is continued by the founding members.
