About the challenge
The Women's Hackathon is our biggest event of the year. It consists of a 24-hour hackathon, open to all women and gender minority students from the University of Bath. Throughout the event, talks from industry professionals and businesses are held and networking opportunities are available through a networking fair that sponsors are invited to participate in. The teams that enter will be judged against each track criteria and winners for each are announced once hacking ends.

What to Build
Each year, our women’s hackathon has a central theme. While some tracks will be directly related to this theme, all projects will still fall under its broader scope. This year the theme is “Reinvent The Wheel”.
“People usually refer to the phrase ‘reinvent the wheel’ to dismiss the idea of reworking current technology (‘if it ain’t broke, don't fix it) but there’s a lot in our lives today that can be improved if we think outside the box and come at our problems from a new angle”
Competitors will develop technical projects that align with the theme and meet the criteria for one or more prize tracks. A ‘track’ is a competition category to which teams tailor their projects with the hope of winning that track’s prize.
