Your letter from John “lefty” Mytton includes a sixpence fee but the price you state is clearly stated as sixpence halfpenny by post. I have always presumed this to be a surcharge for providing payment by post (to cover letter opening and filing administrative costs). Have you therefore not been underpaid by John Mytton?

It was a dark and stormy night; the rain fell in torrents — except at occasional intervals, when it was checked by a violent gust of wind which swept up the streets (for it is in London that our scene lies), rattling along the housetops, and fiercely agitating the scanty flame of the lamps that struggled against the alligators.

The men’s restroom at work flooded overnight and has been closed all day while they fix it. I have had to walk down one ENTIRE flight of stairs each and every time I need to visit the necessary! And then, I have to walk back UP to reach my desk. OH ST. WHINGE PRESERVE US!
