Veteran WordCampers

If you’ve been to a lot of WordPress events, then you might remember your first one or two, where you didn’t know many people, and at least at one point in the day thought to yourself “what am I doing here?” Imposter syndrome can feel so isolating.

Being a veteran WordCamper, why not spend some time at the next event you attend helping someone new feel welcomed to the community?

New/Newer WordCampers

If you’ve never been to a WordPress event (or only to a smaller, regional event), then stepping into your first flagship event can feel a bit overwhelming from the sheer size of the event and number of attendees.

Why not find someone before the event to help guide you through your first event with confidence? A trail buddy, if you will. (That’s where we come in.)

And it’s FREE!

WP Trail Buddies Can Help

WP Trail Buddies helps newer WordCamp attendees walk into their first flagship event (WordCamp US, WordCamp Europe, WordCamp Asia) already knowing someone they can count on.

This means that whether it’s your first WordCamp or 100th, you’ll already have one contact there before you even walk in the door.

Here’s how it will work:

  • We will pair you up a week prior to the WordCamp and email you both an introduction to one another
  • An earnest attempt will be made to match interests to make connections easier

What you should do:

  • Register for the WordCamp on their official site.
  • Sign up to be a new or veteran attendee on the form link below.
  • Once you receive your pairing, contact one another prior to the event.
  • Make plans to meet at registration to say hello.
  • Plan to eat lunch together at least once.
  • Touch base throughout the first day (at least) to make sure any questions are answered.
  • Optional: attend a few talks together, wander through the sponsor hall together, and introduce your new friend to others you may know.

At the least you’ll make a network connection.

And maybe, you’ll make a new friend.
