Humbug Day, observed on December 21st, acknowledges and celebrates the Scrooges, grinches, and curmudgeons who dislike the holiday season. The term “humbug” is famously associated with Ebenezer Scrooge from Charles Dickens’s novel, A Christmas Carol, who uses it to express contempt for Christmas cheer.
