This tool offers a detailed, data-driven view of a player’s game, breaking it down into specific sub-groups linked to individual skills. For example:

• Off The Tee (OTT) – Analyses performance by club type off the tee.
• Approach (APP) – Assesses performance over various distances.
• Around The Green (ARG) – Focuses on different lies within 50 yards.
• Putting (PUTT) - Assesses putting performance across various distances.

The platform evaluates each aspect’s impact on overall performance using three dimensions:

• Importance to scoring – Indicates how significantly a particular area affects the player’s scores.
• Opportunity to improve – Reflects the potential for enhancement based on past performance.
• Shot quality trend – Shows whether the player’s performance in a specific area is improving or declining.

By analysing these factors, Clippd’s algorithm generates a prioritised list of actionable insights, "What To Work On". It then guides both players and coaches on where to focus efforts for optimal improvement. Clippd also integrates seamlessly with various tracking technologies and wearables, consolidating performance data in one accessible platform.

Challenges

Clippd initially operated as a Progressive Web Application (PWA) to provide seamless cross-platform access. However, as the platform evolved, the limitations of a web-based approach became evident:

• Lack of push notifications on iOS, affecting user engagement and retention.
• Restricted app store distribution, limiting visibility and adoption.
• Challenges with in-app purchases, preventing monetisation through mobile stores.
• Performance limitations due to reliance on web technologies.
