Join Eric Eggert on Thursday, 12th of March 2026, 12:30-13:00 (CET) to learn more about what the EN 301 549 standard adds to the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA). This is especially important for product owners, practitioners and testers who might not have experiences with the EN. You'll find the registration link in the event and in the comment section below.

An accessibility rockstar is joining PTS (Swedish Post and Telecom Authority) and we're immensely proud. 🤘 Claudio has been with us as a screen reader guru and accessibility specialist for around two years. Starting as a sub-contractor with screen reader & braille expertise and excelling in the accessibility specialist role with ease. You've taught us and our clients a lot! Though it is sad to see you leave, we know you will through PTS monitoring make a real difference for the state of accessibility in Sweden! Best of luck, your friends and fanclub at Axess Lab! 💚

Spent all the budget on the "accessibility EAA project"? What should you do now when you have no ownership of accessibility or processes that works across the organisation? Progress can quickly be lost. Watch the webinar recording about how to make TV apps accessible, compliant and why it is important Key takeaways from the webinar: • TV apps exist across web, mobile, smart TVs and set-top boxes — and all of them must be accessible under the European Accessibility Act. • For many users, especially those with visual impairments, TV and films are a central part of social life. Audio description and working screen reader support are what make that possible. • The most common issues we see are poorly coded buttons, missing or incorrect labels, and video players where scrubbing simply does not work with a screen reader. • Android TV is widely used and often built into TVs and operator boxes, yet it is still the platform that gets the least accessibility attention in many teams. • To get compliant and usable, providers need to start with real user testing, follow EN 301 549/WCAG, audit their TV apps, and build accessibility into everyday development and onboarding. The VoiceOver Music iOS Challenge — Track 1 Watch our iOS accessibility specialist, Diogo Melo, put some of the most popular music apps to the test using VoiceOver — starting with Apple Music — as he searches for Metallica lyrics. Key takeaways: • Rock-solid headings make the artist page fast and intuitive to navigate. • The Now Playing screen would benefit greatly from headings, making Lyrics and Play Next easier to find without relying on explore-by-touch or excessive swiping. • Since Diogo is an Apple Music user, his navigation habits are biased — and this challenge didn’t even cover the app’s toughest screen: the Home view. • The song didn’t start playing because screen recording was enabled. 🎸 If you want your iOS app to hit every accessibility note, let’s jam together and make your product truly usable for everyone.
