Serving a global movement toward a more creative, connected, and thriving world.
About us
The nonprofit Burning Man Project provides the essential infrastructure of Black Rock City, and works year round to bring Burning Man culture to the world and the 10 Principles to life. But it does not do this alone. Burning Man has given rise to a global network of communities that produce more than 90 official Burning Man events and create a range of initiatives based on the 10 Principles. Burning Man Project connects and empowers this creative ecosystem of builders, makers, doers, and community leaders through grants, education and training initiatives, and art and civic engagement programs like Burners Without Borders and the Fly Ranch Project.

In celebration of Women's Month, frontiertower is hosting a series of events highlighting women who are shaping the frontiers of technology, art, and culture. Burning Man has long served as a cultural laboratory that inspires artists, technologists, and dreamers to experiment with new forms of creativity, community, and possibility. Through Rising Sparks, Burning Man Project is creating pathways for the next generation to discover and carry forward the Burning Man ethos. This panel invites Burning Man Project CEO Marian Goodell, Director of Art Katie Hazard, and Next Generation Strategist Taylor Andrews to reflect on the evolving role of women in the movement and how female leadership is shaping the future of the culture. From 2022 to 2024 “The Tree of Stories” by Laurence Brown, Kim Fairbairn, Ivan Brown, and the Tree of Stories Collective, rose at the center of AfrikaBurn, where it invited participants to ascend a spiral staircase and view tributes to art from years of magical burns. Through its life journey, the project also helped fund solar equipment that now powers a rural nearby school — a gesture that carries the spirit of the work beyond the event itself. Experience it in this stunning video: https://lnkd.in/e9HrDGut

Each year, more than 70,000 humans gather in Black Rock City. Burning Man becomes the spark that inspires many to take an idea and build something extraordinary and unforgettable. Among them are people who dedicate their time to keeping Burning Man culture rooted in participation. They build theme camps that invite you in. They volunteer across the departments that raise a city from dust. They create art — big and small — that sparks joy, curiosity, and awe. They imagine and construct the mutant vehicles that carry wonder across the playa. Burning Man becomes the spark that inspires many to take an idea and build something extraordinary. The latest episodes of Burning Man LIVE follow a few of those threads — conversations with people who found inspiration in this strange experiment and carried it forward in their own way. Give them a listen and tell us which story stayed with you. 🎙️: https://lnkd.in/gBfnCuV3

For 20 years, a simple act of showing up to help has grown into a global movement of civic imagination. Through Burners Without Borders, volunteers translate Burning Man’s principles into hands-on, community-led action — responding to crises, building resilient communities, and nurturing regenerative practices in ways that are practical and deeply human. Two decades in, the work continues to evolve through participation, collaboration, and a belief that ordinary people can build extraordinary change together.
