Swami Sivasubramanian joined Amazon as an intern in 2005 to build Dynamo, a foundational distributed database system. AWS didn't exist yet as a service. His manager, Werner Vogels told him: "You can actually be at a place where we hit the scale for real." Swami's entire career has been at AWS. The experience taught him that "a few remarkably focused, agile people could change the world." Twenty years later, he leads AWS’s Agentic AI organization. From intern to leader, his journey reflects AWS's evolution: solving foundational challenges and pushing forward to what's next.

The next chapter of agentic advertising is being written at the infrastructure layer. I recently shared some thoughts in Ad Age on why the future of AI in advertising isn’t just better models but building the infrastructure and workflows that allow AI to work within real advertising environments. I also share some of the thinking behind our recently launched Amazon Ads MCP Server. If you’re exploring where AI agents fit into advertising today, take a read. I’d love to hear your thoughts: https://lnkd.in/g7R6fHbQ.

Fail fast to succeed sooner. Really appreciated the chance to share this sentiment and a few candid thoughts on failure with Srivatsan Muralidharan and the teams in India during a recent fireside chat. We’ve got incredibly talented people building products all over the world, but even the most skilled product makers will fail at some point. What matters most is what happens next. It's natural to keep pushing to fix things when they’re clearly going south, trying to avoid the inevitable. But failing quickly can actually be a gift. It’s hard. Nobody likes failure. Everyone wants to get it right the first time. But failure is only bad when nothing is learned from it. Most great products are shaped by lessons that come from things not working the way we expected. Thanks to everyone who joined the fireside chat, and to the builders who keep pushing forward and turning those learnings into better experiences for customers. Grateful for the energy, ambition, and speed of our teams around the world.

  • 🚀 Amazon Leo's first launch of 2026 is a success. Last month, 32 satellites lifted off aboard Arianespace's Ariane 64 rocket — bringing our total constellation to 200+ satellites in low Earth orbit. The LE-01 mission marks three important firsts: ✅ Our first launch of 2026 ✅ Our inaugural mission with Arianespace (part of an 18-launch agreement) ✅ The first of three new heavy-lift rockets joining our manifest this year "These powerful launch vehicles allow us to deploy more satellites per mission, which will help us get service to customers as quickly as possible." - Rajeev Badyal, VP of Amazon Leo. More Leo Europe missions are on the way — and with each launch, we're getting closer to connecting the world. 🌍

I recently had the chance to meet with some incredible Amazonians from across our U.S. operations network and hear what their careers at Amazon have meant to them. They came from different sites, roles, and backgrounds—and what connected them was how far they've come and the pride they feel in their teams. They've built careers, earned promotions, completed degrees, and inspire those around them. One is now a Learning Trainer, helping colleagues grow their own careers. Another has been building her education through Career Choice for the past decade. And a third is completing a Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship while pursuing an electrical engineering degree. These are the kinds of stories that remind me why this work matters. To all the Amazonians I met with: thank you for sharing your journeys. I'm so proud to work alongside you.
