ClearRPT + FTM-150 price reduction …

We’ve been re-calculating the Bill Of Materials for our products – it’s not pretty. However, a silver lining is that we’ve been able to make the ClearRPT + Yaesu FTM-150 combo price much more attractive – down to $795 including interface cable, setup and configuration.

Slight upward adjustment on ClearNode to $395. However, this reflects our current stock of components which we acquired some time ago. Looking at current component pricing, there will have to be a further upward adjustment with the next resupply.

Get ’em at this price while you can !

NEW: ASL3 on your Pi 3B ClearNode !!

First things first – shout out to the volunteers and developers at AllStarLink.org ! They were instrumental in making this happen !

We now have an ASL3 image for the Pi 3B ClearNode devices as well as the Pi 4B devices !

You can migrate either by burning the image to a new SD Card and waiting for the auto-configure to complete – that’s for free !

Or, you can order a physical SD Card in the store and have it shipped to you – pre-configured.

We’re expecting a lot of folks to go for this, so we may have to “queue” folks up so we can get through it in an orderly manner.

Please note: this is NOT mandatory, if you want to stay with HamVoIP, that’s just fine.

The is a maintenance release to better support ASL3 as it evolves and improves. Recommended for all users, including HamVoIP installations.

The biggest part of this release is the implementation of “TCP Direct Messaging” – see this page for details. TCP Direct is optional, you can ignore it and continue as you were.

Other things in this release:

Extended and improved the support for Broadcastify streams. They were not working correctly in ASL3 – that has been fixed. We needed to make some changes to “Streaming Audio Setup” in the “AllStar Setup” section. The changes should be automatic – but we do encourage folks that are actively streaming to Broadcastify to review their settings for correctness once you have upgraded to API 142.
Some additions and improvements to the Audio Files for the Hourly Time and Weather script
We have re-enabled access to SkywarnPlus Automatic Courtesy tones, but we’ve added a warning to the selection switch in AllStar Setup – the consequences of this setting have confused a number of users.

This upgrade brings ASL3 deployed on ClearNodes to Asterisk Version 22.7.0 and ASL Version 3.7.1. This update takes a LONG time...

We’ve been alerted that the Time & Wx Announcement Script was occasionally not working for some users. We tracked this down to a slow API response at NWS that was being timed out a little too aggressively. We’ve extended the timeout period to reduce these failures and implemented an announcement that informs you that we were unable to retrieve the NWS Weather data.

There have also been some changes at the AllStarLink.org Registration Database that was tripping up our data retrieval leading to missing information in the Node Details and Add Connection screens in the Smartphone Apps.

The reboot script was not working in ASL3, preventing weekly reboots.

URGENT: Bug fix in Time & Wx announcements …

There was a python syntax issue in HamVoIP installations, which have a much older version of Python. Update your RedNode software on your node – look for API Level 140 and Code Revision 2061. Likely the ClearNode Smartphone App will offer you the update. After the update – go into “Node Details” > “AllStar Setup”...
