FAQs

Quick answers about Small Pics

What is Small Pics?
A URL-first image service for on-the-fly transforms that optimizes and caches at the edge.
Why did you build Small Pics?
At our day job at Foster Commerce, clients were getting gouged by other services. We built a focused, affordable alternative.
What image formats do you output?
AVIF, GIF, JPG, PJPG, PNG, WebP and JPEG XL.
What origins are supported?
Any public HTTP origin, plus S3, DO Spaces, Hetzner Object Storage, and Cloudflare R2.
Can I secure my URLs?
Yes. Signed URLs and origin shielding are built in.
Do I need an SDK to use Small Pics?
No. Small Pics is URL-based. Append query parameters to any image URL. No SDK required, though we offer packages for PHP, Craft CMS, and more.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $19/mo. Three tiers with clear usage caps and no surprise overages. See our pricing page for details.
Will there be variable usage billing?
No. Three tiers with usage caps. No surprise overages.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
Can I migrate from Imgix?
Yes. If you use Craft CMS with Imager X, we have a dedicated transformer plugin that makes the switch straightforward. We also have Imgix parameter compatibility in progress.
