As a product or organisation we will be testing the reservation functionality and verify the data output is as per the standard format of one airline only, but we might not have the option/access to go into another airline and check if the data got transmitted successfully and accurately, so in real time how is this testing viable?

Thanks for being so clear and accurate. In short it explained what is IOT, and how to test it.

Thanks al lot

The classification of the organizations and purpose of the organizations are incorrect. As one of several examples, ENT stands for Ear, Nose, and Throat — so a patient with a fractured leg would not be treated by an ENT clinic or clinician.

I would also point out that a hospital system is not just a “integrated system” but is a System of Systems — meaning that it is not just two or three components interacting to sustain operations in a hospital system, but hundreds of independent systems, each adding some emergent behavior to the hospital system. That is orders of magnitude more complex than integration testing — although integration testing is involved.

That having been said, I do appreciate that you are trying to get this type of testing understood. And generally agree with the workflows, if the departments were better understood. It is a complex infrastructure that needs to be well understood in order to both validate and verify. I fear that someone who reads this, with a bit of medical/HIT knowledge will dismiss the message for the lack of HIT understanding.

From the complete article I understood Interoperability is doing exactly same as “System Integration Testing” , don’t find any difference.

The one which you have explained as “Integration Testing ” speaks only about Component Integration i.e. Testing integration between components within the system .But we do have another flavour as well for Integration ,called “System Integration Testing” where we test the integration between two different systems /applications. Would be very greatful if anyone help me in sorting this out.

You are right. In fact unless the applications at two airlines are so connected to transfer data from 1 application into another application without prior intimation, in a meaningful manner, and further processed to give the accepted output, it is not possible.
