How the app works?
Every Ampler e-bike is equipped with an encrypted IoT module that gives you GPS tracking and smart controls on your phone, without adding complexity. Powered by Bluetooth and LTE-M, the module stays active independently, keeping your bike connected and protected even when turned off or out of range.

Smart remote bike-locking
One of the best ways to make sure nobody but you can use your Ampler is via the phone locking system. Once locked, the power button on the frame is disabled and the bike can only be ridden once unlocked through the app, keeping control in the right hands.
Anti-theft protection
Thanks to the built-in GPS module, you always know where your Ampler is. The app shows its exact location on a live map and if your bike is moved while locked, the app sends an instant alert, giving you the chance to react quickly and stay ahead of anything unexpected.

No. You can ride your Ampler without the app by using the power button to switch the bike and lights on or off and change support levels. However, features like GPS tracking, remote locking, internet services and button-lock authorisation require the app.
Your bike sends its location to our servers whenever it has a GSM connection, and the app shows this on a live map. If GPS is not available, for example underground or in basements, the app displays the last confirmed location until the bike regains signal.
If the bike is on, it updates roughly every 30–60 seconds. If it’s off, updates are sent when something happens (movement, charging, locking/unlocking) or once per day via a “heartbeat”. Updates send automatically whenever GSM is available.
No. The GPS module uses very little power and is designed to run independently. Continuous live tracking while riding isn’t supported, as it would drain the battery and depends on GPS/GSM strength.
When you lock your bike in the app, the physical power button on the frame is disabled. The bike can only be unlocked and used through the app. If someone moves it while locked, you receive an instant alert.
If you enable location & internet services, our engineers can troubleshoot sensor or system issues remotely. Only minimal technical data is accessed, never for marketing, and your location is never shared with third parties.
Yes. You can securely share access through the app using a one-time QR code. The other person scans the code to gain permission to unlock and ride your Ampler. You stay in full control and can remove access whenever you like.
