Cooking is a skill in RuneScape Classic that allows players to cook raw food, including fish, pies, pizza, cake, and many others. The higher a player's Cooking level is, the lower the chance is that they burn food. Cooking is primarily trained by using raw food items on a fire, fireplace, or range.

Ranges have less of a chance of burning food than fires, and the Cook's Range (usable after the completion of Cook's assistant) has even less of a chance of burning food. Upon completion of the Family Crest quest, the player may obtain Gauntlets of cooking. Wearing them while Cooking will reduce the chance of burning certain items.

Various food items produced by Cooking heal varying amounts. Generally, the higher the Cooking level required to cook an item, the more it heals. Some items are eaten in multiple bites, including pizzas and pies, although the majority of food is consumed in one bite.

Raw food can be obtained from various sources, including the fishing skill, as drops from various monsters, and shops such as Wydin's grocery and Frenita's Cooking Shop.

At level 32 Cooking, it becomes possible for the player to enter the Cooks' Guild.

Different categories of food can be made with the Cooking skill.

Most items take 3 game ticks (~2 seconds) to cook, however, some items take longer. Pizza, cake, and pies must be baked and thus take 5 ticks (~3 seconds) to cook. Wine is perhaps the slowest item to cook, taking 6 game ticks (~3.6 seconds) to mature.[1][2]
