What it does ⚙️

A finance app to help your kids learn how to handle money! Assign tasks (chores) for them to complete for coins. Once they save up enough coins, they can redeem it for rewards and even put their hands on stocks!

Don't worry, no real money is going to waste in this market! We created an entirely virtual stock market for the kids to learn/experience how to properly invest. As some people say, it's always good to start them young.

Parents have full control on the tasks they are assigned, how much coins they earn through each task, the rewards that are available to them, and track their kids progress!

How we built it 🏠

After brainstorming our idea for a bit and creating a prototype on Figma, our team began developing EduCoin! We decided to go with a web application that incorporated the MERN tech stack.

Challenges we ran into 🏃‍♂️

We may have taken more food than we can consume, but we had a lot of fun developing the app throughout the entire 24 hours!

Accomplishments that we're proud of 💪

The UI we were able to create in this project is one that we are all proud of. We are especially proud of the fully customized stock trend chart that takes in live stock data from a web API!

What we learned 📚

We learned a ton about web APIs, JavaScript, and how to handle stressful situations while being sleep deprived.

What's next for EduCoin💸

Our next step is to polish the app! We weren't able to create a fully immersive UI experience and would like to go back in the future to make it even better. Further investment features are also in the works!
