Inspiration

The world is moving towards technology and the internet, even in the realm of music. As of today, Madeon's Pop Culture has 36 million views, and is one of the most well-known live performances on the launchpad. These instruments can be expensive, so we came up with a web app so that anyone can create and experience music right from the browser.

What it does

Upload sound clips to a bank on the left. Click a key button with your cursor to map it to one of your sounds. Then, you can press the button on your keyboard to play it! A simple set-up allows for unlimited musical creativity and exploration.

How we built it

Everything is built with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Challenges we ran into

Scaling for CSS elements.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a way to practice making and performing music that's super accessible! There's still plenty of room for improvement, and we hope to continue adding features and squashing bugs.

What we learned

JavaScript is a tricky beast.

What's next for minimusic

Looping of sounds, multi-file adding, pre-set libraries, recording of performances, & side bar search for sound clips, music videos, and pre-set sound libraries.
