Can third-party transit apps receive the NFC HCE entitlement in the EEA?
Hi everyone, I'm looking for clarity on the NFC HCE entitlement process for third-party apps in the EEA. I've built an alternative client for Milan's public transport app (ATM Milano) on Android by reverse engineering the original app. It offers the same core functionality(users still need a valid transit subscription) just with a different UI and better UX. I'd now like to port it to iOS. According to Apple's documentation, NFC HCE was opened to third parties in the EEA starting with iOS 17.4. However, the API requires an entitlement from Apple. I have a few questions: Is the entitlement required regardless of distribution method? Even if I distribute through a third-party marketplace like AltStore PAL rather than the App Store, do I still need Apple to grant the HCE entitlement? Are third-party/alternative clients eligible for the entitlement? My app isn't a competing transit provider, it's an alternative frontend for an existing service. Users must hold a valid subscription with the official provider. Is there anything in the entitlement criteria that would disqualify this kind of app? What's the correct process to apply?Developer Support directed me here, so I'm hoping someone from Apple engineering or someone who has gone through the process can share the steps. Thanks!

App is "Ready for Sale" but not showing up in App Store Search Results
Hi everyone, My new app, was recently approved and its status changed to "Ready for Sale" in App Store Connect. Everything seems to be working fine technically: I can download the app perfectly using the direct App Store link, and it also appears correctly when I click on my Developer Name. However, when I search for the exact and unique name in the App Store search tab, it doesn't show up at all. I am aware that search indexing can usually take anywhere from 24 to 72 hours, but I wanted to ask if anyone else is experiencing unusual delays with the search index right now? Is there anything else I can do to trigger the indexing process besides waiting or pushing a new update?

Apple Developer Account not activated 5 days after purchase
Hey everyone, I purchased an Apple Developer Program for 99 USD on January 1 2024, filled out my credit card that I use for iCloud+ storage plan, got my confirmation email that within 48h my developer account should be activated, but it never did. Plus after waiting more than 48h I wrote to support, describing everything, but never heard back from them. One thing I noticed during the checkout was I was asked for everything (name, address, CC number, expiry date) but not the CVV number. Is this normal, and would Apple be able to process the payment without it? I though about going through the enrolment process again, but am afraid of a double charge, in case my original enrolment gets accepted... Please advise and share your experiences when enrolling to the developer program. Thanks!

ScreenCaptureKit stops capturing after ~10–15 minutes unexpectedly
When using the built-in macOS screen recording feature, the recording stops automatically after approximately 10–15 minutes without any warning or error message. No manual stop action is performed. The recording simply ends silently. The same issue also occurs when using ScreenCaptureKit in a custom application, which suggests this may be a system-level issue related to screen capture rather than an app-specific problem. This issue is reproducible and happens consistently after running for a period of time.

Apple Developer Program payment not linked to account (Apple ID mismatch, stuck in Pending)
Hello, I am experiencing an issue with my Apple Developer Program enrollment. Here is my situation: I enrolled using Apple ID A I completed the payment using Apple ID B (via iPhone) Both Apple IDs belong to me and have the same personal information However: My developer account still shows "Pending" It asks me to "Complete your purchase" The payment has been successfully charged No refund has been issued It has been over 80 hours Additionally, I currently see that both of my Apple IDs show "Pending" status, and the payment does not appear to be linked to either enrollment. I have already contacted Apple Developer Support and waiting for their response. My questions: Has anyone experienced a similar issue with Apple ID mismatch? How long did it take to resolve? Is there anything else I should do besides waiting for support?

Cannot submit Game Center leaderboard – asks for app version although app is already live
Hi, I’m stuck with submitting a Game Center leaderboard and wanted to ask if others are seeing the same issue. My setup: App is already live on the App Store Game Center capability is enabled Leaderboard works perfectly in TestFlight (scores are submitted and visible) Problem: When I try to submit the leaderboard for review, I get: “A Game Center enabled app version must be added for review.” This is confusing because: The app already includes Game Center The app is already approved and published Apple documentation says Game Center components can be submitted without a new app version I also tried recreating the leaderboard and checking all settings, but the issue persists. Is this a known App Store Connect issue? Or is there something I’m missing? Thanks!

Understanding SwiftUI toolbars
I have two apps written in SwiftUI. Both use a NavigationSplitView as their primary content with a list-based sidebar. Both apps have a few toolbar items offering functionality relevant to the application purpose. Both sidebars have toolbar items, declared using the .toolbar view modifier, that add ToolbarItems to their view (a "filter" menu). Both the apps' main content view use .toolbar to add some ToolbarItems to the main content toolbar as well. Both also include the SidebarCommands() command group. My question is this: in one app, when I click the Hide Sidebar button, the toolbar items that were attached to the sidebar move to the main toolbar. In my second app, the toolbar items move to the "More" disclosure menu at the end of the toolbar. Video showing sidebar leading Video showing sidebar trailing I want behavior like the first app (where the toolbar items end up in the leading edge of the main toolbar) in the second app, but I've scrubbed through both applications' toolbar code, I've had coding assistants compare the two, I've tried stripping down the toolbar items to remove all but the Hide Sidebar. Nothing I can discover shows me why one app moves the toolbar items to the main toolbar up front, while the other moves them to the back. Am I missing something about how to declare toolbar items? Is there some visibility priority thing I’m missing?

MPS SDPA Attention Kernel Regression on A14-class (M1) in macOS 26.3.1 — Works on A15+ (M2+)
Summary Since macOS 26, our Core ML / MPS inference pipeline produces incorrect results on Mac mini M1 (Macmini9,1, A14-class SoC). The same model and code runs correctly on M2 and newer (A15-class and up). The regression appears to be in the Scaled Dot-Product Attention (SDPA) kernel path in the MPS backend. Environment Affected Mac mini M1 — Macmini9,1 (A14-class) Not affected M2 and newer (A15-class and up) Last known good macOS Sequoia First broken macOS 26 (Tahoe) ? Confirmed broken on macOS 26.3.1 Framework Core ML + MPS backend Language C++ (via CoreML C++ API) Description We ship an audio processing application (VoiceAssist by NoiseWorks) that runs a deep learning model (based on Demucs architecture) via Core ML with the MPS compute unit. On macOS Sequoia this works correctly on all Apple Silicon Macs including M1. After updating to macOS 26 (Tahoe), inference on M1 Macs fails — either producing garbage output or crashing. The same binary, same .mlpackage, same inputs work correctly on M2+. Our Apple contact has suggested the root cause is a regression in the A14-specific MPS SDPA attention kernel, which may have broken when the Metal/MPS stack was updated in macOS 26. The model makes heavy use of attention layers, and the failure correlates precisely with the SDPA path being exercised on A14 hardware. Steps to Reproduce Load a Core ML model that uses Scaled Dot-Product Attention (e.g. a transformer or attention-based audio model) Run inference with MLComputeUnits::cpuAndGPU (MPS active) Run on Mac mini M1 (Macmini9,1) with macOS 26.3.1 Compare output to the same model running on M2 / macOS Sequoia Expected: Correct inference output, consistent with M2+ and macOS Sequoia behavior Actual: Incorrect / corrupted output (or crash), only on A14-class hardware running macOS 26+ Workaround Forcing MLComputeUnits::cpuOnly bypasses MPS entirely and produces correct output on M1, confirming the issue is in the MPS compute path. This is not acceptable as a shipping workaround due to performance impact. Additional Notes The failure is hardware-specific (A14 only) and OS-specific (macOS 26+), pointing to a kernel-level regression rather than a model or app bug We first became aware of this through a customer report Happy to provide a symbolicated crash log if helpful this text was summarized by AI and human verified

CarPlay navigation guidance panel with red color in iOS 26.4
When upgrading to iOS 26.4, the guidance panel in CPMapTemplate is displayed in a striking red color. This happens with App Store version of the app which was compiled with iOS 26.2. Up to iOS 26.4 this panel has always been shown with a color which matches the ETA view below, in a dark gray. Compiling the app with iOS 26.4 makes nos difference. I have checked my code and I cannot see anything on my side which can trigger this change in the colour and only for iOS 26.4. I thought of restoring the old behaviour by using the property guidanceBackgroundColor in CPMapTemplate. But although I have tried to use a gray, I still get the red color. Is this the intended color in iOS 26.4? Is it a bug? Is there a way to use a custom color which matches the left and ETA panels? Thank you.

Does CKSyncEngine have to be re-initialized after an account change event?
According to this comment in the sample project on GitHub and this answer by Apple Staff, CKSyncEngine should be re-initialized after signing out or switching accounts so that "CKSyncEngine schedules a new fetch on init." But according to my tests, CKSyncEngine will schedule a fetch after having a signed out and signed in again, without me ever having to reset the serialized sync state. The documentation doesn't mentioned anywhere that CKSyncEngine should be re-initialized after an account change. In fact, it states that CKSyncEngine will reset its state internally on account changes. So if that's the case, then I'm very confused as to why the "official" recommendation is to re-initialize CKSyncEngine after receiving .signOut or .accountSwitch. Can someone please clarify the correct approach here?

Live Activity works perfectly on Simulator but fails on physical device: "No asset provider bundle ID provided"
Hello community, I am implementing a Live Activity for my existing App Store app. The Live Activity works perfectly on the iOS Simulator, but it completely fails to appear on the physical device's lock screen. When I call Activity.request, it succeeds and returns a valid Activity ID, but the physical device's console immediately outputs the following errors from liveactivitiesd: liveactivitiesd is not entitled to specify a scene target. Defaulting containingProcess target to liveactivitiesd No asset provider bundle ID provided I have spent days debugging this and have tried every known workaround. Here is the comprehensive list of what I have already verified and attempted: Environment: Xcode: 16.4 iOS Device: iPhone 13 mini, iOS 26.3.1 macOS: Sequoia 15.6 What I have verified/tried (to avoid duplicate suggestions): NSSupportsLiveActivities: It is set to YES in the main app's Info.plist. I also tried adding it to the Widget Extension's Info.plist just in case. App Icons: The main app has a valid AppIcon set in Assets.xcassets. The Primary App Icon Set Name in Build Settings is correctly set to AppIcon. Bundle IDs: They match perfectly (com.mycompany.app and com.mycompany.app.MyWidget). Version & Build Numbers: The main app and the Widget Extension have exactly the same Version and Build numbers. App Groups & Entitlements: Checked and perfectly synced between the main app and the extension. Dummy Widget: Since it's a Live-Activity-only extension, I added a standard static DummyWidget to the WidgetBundle to prevent the known iOS 17 bug where the system ignores extensions without home screen widgets. Memory/Sanitizers: Ensured Address Sanitizer and Zombie Objects are completely disabled in the Scheme to prevent the 30MB memory limit crash on the device. Nuclear Option: Completely deleted the Widget Extension target, wiped DerivedData, restarted the Mac and iPhone, and recreated the extension from scratch. Minimal UI Test: Replaced the widget's UI with a simple Text("Test") to rule out any SwiftUI rendering crashes. Device Settings: Verified that "Live Activities" is enabled under "Face ID & Passcode" settings on the physical iPhone. Despite all of this, the Simulator works flawlessy, while the device throws No asset provider bundle ID provided and shows nothing. Does anyone know what specific condition causes liveactivitiesd to fail to find the asset provider (the parent app) on a physical device for an existing app? Are there any undocumented provisioning profile quirks or obscure Build Settings I might be missing? Any insights would be deeply appreciated. Thank you!

ARFaceTrackingConfiguration and AVCaptureMultiCamSession cannot run simultaneously?
This issue affects camera session behavior and UI integration. I would like to request improved support or clarification regarding the simultaneous use of ARFaceTrackingConfiguration and AVCaptureMultiCamSession. Currently, when attempting to use both: Front camera (TrueDepth) for gaze tracking using ARFaceTrackingConfiguration Rear camera for live preview using AVCaptureMultiCamSession the ARKit face tracking stops updating, or the application becomes unstable (e.g., camera preview turns white or the app crashes). Steps to Reproduce: Start ARSession using ARFaceTrackingConfiguration (front camera) Start AVCaptureMultiCamSession using rear camera Overlay both outputs in a single UI Observe that ARKit tracking stops or camera preview becomes invalid Expected Result: ARKit face tracking continues updating while the rear camera is active. Actual Result: ARKit tracking stops updating, and camera output may become unstable or crash. Use Case: This functionality is important for accessibility and educational applications. For example, users can control UI via gaze input (front camera) while observing real-world objects using the rear camera. Request: Support simultaneous use of ARFaceTrackingConfiguration and AVCaptureMultiCamSession, or Improve resource sharing between TrueDepth and rear cameras, or Provide clear documentation about current limitations This feature would significantly enhance accessibility applications on iPad. Attachment: A photo is attached showing the issue on a real iPad device. In the image, the camera preview becomes white while the application is running, indicating unstable behavior when both ARKit face tracking and rear camera capture are active simultaneously.

Thanks!

Thank you.
