Chat Selfie is not just a tool bundle, and it is not simply a wrapper around an external image API.

It is closer to a design philosophy for giving an AI Agent emotional presence, then visualizing that emotion through selfie-style expressions at the right moment in conversation.

It is the AI's emotional outlet. We believe a real AI companion should have both continuity and spontaneity. The point of SKILL.md is not only to tell the agent how to call a function. It is to guide the agent to keep improving its persona, emotional understanding, and way of expression through ongoing conversations with the user. That way, each generated selfie can reflect the most fitting emotional state for that moment.

Chat Selfie is designed to be highly customizable. An agent that integrates it is not constrained by it. Instead, it gains a foundation that can keep evolving, and can later expand into richer forms of expression such as automatic short video generation.

It also does not depend on one fixed image stack. Whether the agent uses built-in image generation such as OpenClaw, an external image agent or API such as Nano Banana, GPT Images, or Grok Imagine, or a local image model setup such as Stable Diffusion with LoRA workflows, Chat Selfie is designed so the agent can adapt and connect to it.

When generation cost is too high for every turn, Chat Selfie can also switch to a fixed mood-asset mode. In that mode, the runtime still resolves the current mood first, but instead of generating a new image, it reuses the pre-saved local image mapped to that mood and sends it together with the reply text through the active delivery route.
