Hey there, I’m Jake Church!

Lifetime Learner and Dreamer

Marine scientist in-training! I love the intersection of oceanography, computational biology, and most certainly natural history of marine invertebrates.

Would love to study/work with siphonophores or ctenophores one day!


What I’m Working On

  • Genetics of Bajacalifornia burragei from deep-sea trawls in the Gulf of California
  • Sensor-driven BlueROV2 deployments (temperature, pressure, salinity, DO) using Raspberry Pi + Node-RED

  • Python + R for scientific computing
  • Relational database design and SQL for marine data
