I'm an Information Systems Specialist in K-8 education, building tools that make school systems actually work for the people using them.
I spend my days at the intersection of education and technology: managing PowerSchool administration, automating tedious processes with Google Apps Script, and building internal tools that save teachers and administrators (and myself) hours of manual work. Most of my projects solve real problems I've encountered firsthand: attendance tracking that doesn't suck, backup systems that actually run, data dashboards that surface what matters. I spend my nights working on various passion projects, try to write a blog post every so often, and mess around with self-hosted systems, that is, if my kid lets me.
ποΈ The Docket β A productivity app bridging notes and tasks with a many-to-many architecture. Built because existing tools forced me to choose between good note-taking and good task management, but never both.
π΅ Music Recs - An app to help me explore more music by knowing what I listen to and what I like.
π PowerSchool Automation Suite β Custom pages, SQL queries, and API integrations for attendance tracking, truancy letters, student data dashboards, and backup systems.
βοΈ Google Apps Script Tooling β Teacher recommendation sheets with auto-discovery, data validation, and bidirectional sync. The kind of automation that makes spreadsheet workflows actually sustainable.
Languages: Python, SQL, JavaScript, Google Apps Script
Platforms: PowerSchool, Google Workspace, Docker, Proxmox
Tools: Selenium, various APIs, self-hosted infrastructure
When I'm not debugging queries or wrestling with APIs, I'm watching soccer, playing terrible chess, or (hopefully) reading some (hopefully) good novels. If my kid lets me.
