Quake 4 Call of Duty Zombies Mod
This project takes the source code for Quake 4 and modifies it to create a Call of Duty Zombies mode in Quake.
Goals for this project are:
- Create a desktop shortcut that automatically launches the mod
- README.md that explains the mod and its features
- Modified Main Menu
- The main menu has been modified to fit the Zombies theme.
- Custom "Zombies" text is displayed and various red elements have been added.
- See mainmenu.gui in guis.
- Modified Heads Up Display (HUD) reflecting a key feature of the mod
- The HUD has been changed with hints of red to match the changes to the main menu.
- The HUD also displays the player's point count and which wave (number) the player is on.
- The HUD updates as soon as either of the waveCount or points variables change.

- In-Game Help Screen explaining mod changes
- The Objectives GUI (wristcomm.gui) modified to explain the mod.
- The player can press Tab in game to see the help screen.
- The help screen gives the player advice and explains the wave system.

- Wave Based System
- Zombies spawn into the game in waves.
- Player is locked into the starting location.
- Other AI have been removed (Morris, Anderson, Metcalf).
- A wave count variable keeps track of how many waves have passed.
- Rethemed Weapons
- All weapons changed to behave differently than the base game.
- 5 Different Perks
- Juggernog: Increase max health to 200 and health restored at wave start to 100.
- Stamin-Up: Increase movement speed by 1.5x.
- Ultra Jump: Increase jump height by 2x.
- Double-Tap: Each shot of every weapon is doubled with no cost to ammo.
- Quick Revive: If player takes damage that would set their health below 0, restore them to 50 health and lose all perks.
- 5 Different Drops / Item Pickups / Powerups
- Double Points: For 10 seconds, increase points earned by 2x.
- Insta-Kill: For 10 seconds, zombies' health reduced to 1.
- Max Ammo: Instantly fill the reserve ammunition of all weapons owned.
- Nuke: Instantly kill all zombies for the wave, player gets 400 points.
- Zombie Blood: For 5 seconds, all zombies become passive and idle.
- Point Based System / Buy Menu
- Added a points variable for the player.
- Whenever the player kills a zombie, the player gains 100 points.
- Added a price (in points) of all purchasable items.
- Created a buy menu through the console for purchasing perks.
- Typing the command 'shop' in the console prints all purchasable items.
- Typing 'buy' followed by the number of the item is how an item is purchased.
- TODO: Make weapons purchasable and implement a GUI for the Buy Menu
