What changes are you trying to make? (e.g. Adding or removing code, refactoring existing code, adding reports)
I added code to complete assignment 2. This included writing code to read and display data using python's built-in open() function, creating a summary statistic function with numpy, and creating a basic error detection function in reading patient data.
What did you learn from the changes you have made?
I mostly learned the concept of writing functions. In particular, writing functions that can build upon each other.
Was there another approach you were thinking about making? If so, what approach(es) were you thinking of?
I found part 1 tedious because I'm already familiar with pandas and polars. It would have been much more convenient to use them to read a series of csv files.
Were there any challenges? If so, what issue(s) did you face? How did you overcome it?
I found the first component challenging. I had to return back to my course notes to check how the code should be structured.
How were these changes tested?
I did some basic ad-hoc testing. No formal unit tests were conducted.
