As far as I can tell this has no impact. I think the only place we use this is for verbose logging in the gh auth login flow.

GH_DEBUG=api bin/gh auth loginand successfully completed the flow - Run
GH_DEBUG=api gh auth loginand done a quick visual comparison of the outputs, noting no differences
