edit: failed because standard intel/2016b installation is broken on CentOS 7.3, cfr. https://software.intel.com/en-us/articles/intel-compiler-version-16-not-compatible-with-recent-libcso6; I'll need to replace the libintlc.so.5 in the intel/2016b installations (and figure out a good way to do that in the regtest too... 😠)
