@easybuilders/easybuild-easyconfigs-maintainers After extensive testing, I think it's time to consider this final. I've tested the current proposal starting from the easyconfigs that were using foss/2018b, resulting in over 380 successful installations on a CentOS 7 Intel Broadwell system. Highlights include:

  • BLAST+/2.8.1-foss-2019b
  • Boost/1.68.0-foss-2019b
  • FFmpeg/4.1-foss-2019b
  • GROMACS/2019-foss-2019b
  • GTK+/2.24.32-foss-2019b
  • GATE/8.2-foss-2019b-Python-2.7.15
  • matplotlib/2.2.3-foss-2019b-Python-2.7.15 + matplotlib/3.0.2-foss-2019b-Python-3.7.0
  • netCDF/4.6.1-foss-2019b + netCDF-Fortran/4.4.4-foss-2019b + netCDF-C++4/4.3.0-foss-2019b
  • Octave/4.4.1-foss-2019b
  • OpenFOAM/6-foss-2019b (excl. ParaView)
  • PLUMED/2.5.0-foss-2019b-Python-2.7.15
  • Python 2.7.15 (incl. numpy/scipy/pandas) + 2.7.16 (see {lang}[GCCcore/8.3.0] Python v2.7.16 #8915)

Some minor issues with older software versions popped up, but they were usually trivially solved by updating to the latest version (which we'll do anyway).
