Hi , First of all I need to thank for sharing wonderful detailed guidelines regarding the project ideas and all about APIDash!!
Being CS undergrad was genuinely interested in Anthropic's MCP architecture and goggle recent A2A architecture which they claim to compliment MCP. I have gone through the detailed guidelines and instruction and though i am beginner i kind of interested in creating and testing this MCP servers and will be contributing soon!!
I’d love to take this – any guidance?

Pre-application steps

• Feel free to drop by our Discord server and wave a hi 👋. Discord is our primary mode to communication for this project. You can ask any question or interact with the mentors/admins anytime on this server in the #gsoc-foss-apidash channel.
• Go through the Project Walkthrough video to learn about the project structure and how you can setup, run & test the project locally.
• Go through the Developer docs.
• Go through the USER GUIDE.
• Go through the CONTRIBUTING GUIDE to learn how you can contribute in detail.
• Prior knowledge of Dart/Flutter, React/TypeScript, AI is not compulsory. In case you want to get started with Flutter, a good place to begin your learning journey is here.
• Run API Dash locally, explore it, figure out bugs & raise a new issue or pick up an existing issue. Start interacting with the mentors to discuss your approach & how you can work on the issue. The objective is to help you get familiar with the project and the process of raising & working on a PR for API Dash.

I’m interested in contributing to MCP support for API Dash.

I would like to start by working on the MCP client integration layer, especially for DashBot integration. My initial idea is:

• Implement MCP client support (JSON-RPC over WebSocket or stdio)
• Register API Dash request execution as MCP tools
• Enable tool-calling flow from DashBot
• Ensure secure handling of credentials and context isolation

Before I begin, I have a couple of questions:

1. Should we prioritize MCP client mode or server mode?
2. Is there any preferred architecture pattern for integrating MCP within the current codebase?
3. Are there any existing design discussions or drafts for this feature?

Happy to draft a short design proposal before starting implementation.

Hi 👋 I’m Rahul Singh, a software engineer with experience in backend systems and real-time applications (Go, TypeScript, C/C++).

I’ve set up API Dash locally and started exploring the codebase, especially the request execution flow and Flutter UI integration.

I’m particularly interested in contributing to MCP testing and agentic AI features. I’m currently analyzing how API Dash handles API request lifecycles and thinking about how MCP tools can be integrated as a testing layer.

I plan to start with a small contribution (likely around improving API handling or adding test coverage) and then move towards MCP-related features.

I had a couple of questions:

Is there an existing abstraction layer where MCP tools can plug into request execution?

Should new AI/agent features be implemented primarily in the Flutter layer or via backend services (Node/Python)?

Hi! I've submitted my draft application for Idea #1 — MCP Testing in PR #1476.

The proposal takes a protocol-first, automation-first approach: the core is a conformance engine that runs headless (CLI, CI) or interactive (web UI), delivered as three standalone packages:

1. mcp-conformance — schema validator, assertion framework, conformance test suite, network recording, CLI with JUnit/TAP/JSON output
2. mcp-mock — configurable mock MCP server with replay and failure injection
3. MCP Testing UI — React web interface for interactive exploration and test execution

Would love mentor feedback on the approach and scope. Happy to discuss on Discord or in the PR!

I have experience building:
Autonomous NPC Framework: A hierarchical multi-agent system for dynamic decision-making.

Code Migration System: An AutoGen-based multi-agent system that uses Tree-sitter and LibCST for safe, automated code transformations.

I’ve set up API Dash locally and am exploring how to apply agentic "self-healing" logic to API request failures (e.g., using an agent to reason through 400-level errors and suggest fixes).

I'd love to discuss how my experience with AutoGen and Tree-sitter could help advance the Agentic AI roadmap. Should I start by drafting a PoC for a specific agentic tool, or is there a preferred area in the Python/Dart bridge I should look into first?
