March Mania

March Mania is a website that simulates an ESPN bracket pool for the Men's and Women's March Madness tournament using a Monte Carlo simulator. The UI updates live as the simulator runs, and users can:

  • View each bracket's chance of winning their group
  • See how the outcome of each game affects those chances
  • Select the outcomes of future games to re-run the simulation and show conditional probabilities

The site fits on both small and large screens, and it also works in dark mode. It's live at madness.imranh.org.

Implementation

The site was developed in TypeScript using the SvelteKit framework, as well as Tailwind for CSS and shadcn-svelte for UI components.
