Accessibility: reduce reliance on color-only status indicators #60

Description

Problem

Server status and resource states are communicated primarily through color (Solarized Dark palette). Users who are colorblind or using screen readers cannot distinguish states effectively.

Proposed Solution

  • Add text-based status indicators alongside colors (e.g., status icons or labels that don't rely on color alone)
  • Ensure sufficient contrast ratios between status colors
  • Consider this early — retrofitting accessibility later is significantly harder than designing for it now

Priority

Lower — but worth addressing before the user base grows. Inclusive design from the start avoids costly retrofits.

Context

Identified during features & usability review.
