Principles

  • 1 is better than 2, and 2 is better than 0. Don't couple teams early. Optimize for throughput.
  • Problems first, tools second. Start with the pain point, not the shiny tech stack.
  • Ship fast on solid foundations. Use SOLID principles so fast doesn't become broken.
  • Keep it simple. Complexity is a tax you will have to pay forever.
  • UX over tech ego. The user’s experience always beats the developer's pride.
  • Data is leverage. Your code is the engine, but the data is your real advantage.
  • AI is bigger than GenAI. Stick to first principles and stay skeptical of experts and hype.
  • Skip the premature optimization. It really is the root of all evil.
