MoonRF

MoonRF

MoonRF is an open-source phased-array hardware & software initiative—with a focus on space applications.

We'll be cleaning this up over the next month or two in preparation for the hardware release on Crowd Supply.

Hardware

🌕 More information at https://moonrf.com/

  • Capable of transmitting signals to the moon and receiving echoes (allowing communication on the same side of the Earth).
  • Operates over 40 MHz of bandwidth in the C-band (4.9–6 GHz)
  • Composed of 60 RF modules with 4 antennas each (240 antennas total).
  • Every antenna element supports full digital waveform synthesis and reception.
  • Designed for high directivity and strong Effective Isotropic Radiated Power (EIRP) — targeting 4 MW in baseline configuration
  • Modular and reconfigurable

License

Nearly all the software is open-source while making our hardware as accessible as possible. This link gives details: https://open.space/updates/#faq
