🔗 Step 1: Download the Software

You need to download the latest version of fabric-error-framework from the official release page.

  3. Scroll down to find the Assets section under the latest release.

  4. Download the file named similar to fabric-error-framework-setup.exe. This is the installer.

The file size will be around 20 MB and should save to your computer’s default "Downloads" folder.


🛠 Step 2: Install the Framework

After downloading, follow these instructions to install the framework:

  1. Double-click the fabric-error-framework-setup.exe file in your Downloads folder.

  2. A setup wizard will open. Click Next to start the installation.

  3. Read and accept the license agreement by clicking the option to agree. Then click Next.

  4. Choose the installation folder or keep the default path suggested by the wizard. Click Next.

  5. Click Install. The process will take a few minutes as it copies files.

  6. Wait for the installer to finish. Then click Finish to close the wizard.

The program is now installed on your Windows computer.

To start using the framework:

  1. Look for the shortcut named fabric-error-framework on the Desktop or in the Start Menu under Programs.

  2. Double-click the shortcut to open the framework.

  3. The main window will appear. You will see menus to configure how errors are captured and where logs are stored.

  4. If you open a Microsoft Fabric Notebook after starting the framework, it will automatically track errors and warnings.

  • You can choose to save error logs locally or send them to a server for shared use.
  • Recent errors will be grouped by notebook and time to help find problems fast.
  • The interface lets you search error messages with keywords.
  • You can export logs from the framework if you need to review them outside the program.

🔧 Troubleshooting

  • If the installer does not start, make sure Windows allows apps from the internet. Check your security settings.
  • The framework requires an active Microsoft Fabric Notebook session to collect errors. Make sure your notebook software is running.
  • If errors don’t appear, check the connection between the notebook and the framework. Restart both if needed.
  • Logs may fill your disk if not cleaned regularly. Use the settings panel to schedule automatic cleanup.
